I am needing a doula or a midwife. I have my first apt with a OBYGN but I believe I would like to go natural *no epidural* for the first time. I have had 4 pregnancies and births prior to this one all with epidural and vaginally. For my last final baby i would like to try and experience more of the natural birth as far as I can go before I ask for the epidural or for the whole birth. I am wanting to give birth at home or birth center but always open to the hospital. I have coverage by Alberta works. I am a 24 year old mama and my partner is 25 almost 26 years old. This will be my first time giving birth here in red deer. All my other babies have been born in Calgary.

Hospital birth unmedicated hopefully. Not sure of budget. Birth plan is flexible but I would like to try to labor at home for as long as possible then transition to the hospital

I’m not sure where I would like to have birth. I don’t know anyone who’s had a home birth and I never really knew that was ever an option. I’m flexible in my budget. This is my first child so I don’t know what to include in my birth plan. I don’t even have an OB yet and I’m 16 weeks.

I am giving birth in a birthing center. I have to be about 6 cm dilated before I can enter the birthing centre so most of the time will be at home and I’m looking for support for being at at home for that time before 6 cm. I am planning a home birth and am looking for a doula who can provide calm, steady and supportive care throughout both labor and the postpartum period. I really value a relaxed and comforting presence. Someone who helps me feel safe, grounded and supported during the experience. It’s also important to me that my doula respects and is open to my spiritual beliefs and is comfortable supporting that aspect of my birth in a natural and respectful way. My budget is around $1200. My birth plan is fairly simple. We’re aiming for a low-intervention, peaceful home birth environment and I’m looking for someone who aligns with that approach and can support both practically and emotionally throughout.

I prefer to move around freely during labor and try different pushing positions. I do not want coached or forced pushing and would like to follow my body’s natural urges.
