I am planning a home water birth in the Hudson Valley (Orange County, NY). I am looking to build an all-Black birth team, including a Black licensed midwife and a Black doula, as culturally responsive care is very important to me. My goal is a calm, low-intervention, unmedicated water birth at home with continuous support, informed consent, and respectful care throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I would like support with comfort measures, advocacy, emotional support, and breastfeeding/lactation guidance after birth.

We would love support with the transition home from the hospital, and all aspects of newborn feeding and care. Our primary need is someone to support with the baby, but we would also love to speak with anyone who also has interest or flexibility around housekeeping, assisting with our older toddler (born 11/8/23) or cooking (this would be an added bonus, not necessarily a requirement). As the baby nurse, you would be focused on newborn care, feeding, and sleep, as well as assistance with baby laundry. We are open to both night nurses only or full-time live-in nurses.
