First-time mom planning a hospital birth at Pomona Valley Hospital and looking for a birth/postpartum doula with a practical, evidence-based approach. I would like support during pregnancy with education, preparing for labor, helping me understand my options, and creating a birth plan/preferences document. During labor, I’m looking for someone calm and supportive who can help me advocate for myself, ask questions, and help me process decisions without pressure unless medically necessary. Postpartum support is my biggest priority. I would like help with recovery, breastfeeding/pumping support, newborn guidance, emotional reassurance, and preparing to return to work as an elementary teacher. I am hoping to breastfeed/pump and would value someone knowledgeable about lactation and pumping for working moms. I am open to holistic approaches as long as they are grounded in research and evidence-based care. I am not looking for an anti-medical approach and am comfortable with hospital care and interventions when medically necessary. I would prefer someone experienced with first-time moms and familiar with Pomona Valley Hospital or the surrounding area (La Verne/Claremont/Upland/Pomona).

The primary focus of this position is to assist me with my physical recovery and overall well-being. Duties may include helping me move safely, assisting me in and out of bed or chairs as needed, preparing light meals and snacks, ensuring I stay hydrated, helping me stay on top of my medications, providing emotional support, and performing light household tasks such as tidying, dishes, and light laundry so I can focus on healing. I am looking for someone who understands C-section recovery and can help make the postpartum period less physically demanding. No direct newborn care is required, as their grandmother will be assisting with that. I plan on birthing in San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland CA. I would like to have as least medical interventions as possible however while still in a hospital setting in case it is medically necessary to intervene. I would like to have a doula for supporting my husband and I in preparation for this to be possible as well as postpartum support to help me get settled in as a new mother healing from birthing. I plan to give birth at the Kaiser Baldwin Park hospital (Los Angeles county). I am looking for care that is fully covered by my Kaiser insurance. My birth plan is still in work, but I would generally am ideally looking for a physiological/ low-intervention birth. I value an evidence-based approach and someone who is highly collaborative with hospital nursing staff, so experience at Kaiser Baldwin Park would be a big plus. During birth, I will respond better to a calm,and grounded presence but someone who will still be firm and supportive. We live in Playa Del Rey and planning to have a birth in Cedars-Sinai in Beverly Hills. Our estimate budget is $1500-3000 but this will depend on the available options. I am working with a midwife as my primary care provider, and for now we are planning on a natural birth, preferably no induction (unless medically required), maximizing freedom to move during birth. I want to have an epidural as an option if I need it but I am planning to go without it for as long as possible and see how it goes. I am 25 yo, this is my first baby (a boy). We are looking for a russian speaking doula who will be able to help during birth and also provide guidance in postpartum journey (newborn care, pp recovery).
