I’m interested getting a birth doula and postpartum doula . I have 1199 national benefits fund health insurance.

I plan to give birth in the midwifery unit of the MedStar Washington Hospital in Washington DC. I am looking to have as few interventions as possible and plan to birth unmedicated. I would strongly prefer a doula of Christian faith, though shared faith is not a requirement. I’m only interested in doulas with experience in a hospital setting and would prefer a doula with at least 3 years of experience. Ideally, my doula would also be able to take photographs periodically throughout labour and delivery, though I know this may not be likely. I am not interested in postpartum care.

I am thinking epidural (maybe?) but I really dont want to give birth on my back..main goal- no episiotomy unless absolutely necessary, next main goal- avoid tearing .. heard wet rags help with elasticity, and would advocate no men and minimal resident learning on me as I don’t want to be a guinea pig and have them examine my cervix every few. Hello looking to see what are options and mainly would love postpartum help with baby

I am new to the idea of having a doula. I would like to do more preparation work to hopefully have a smoother delivery. My first experience of childbirth, ended in a natural delivery that was forceps assisted, and I had 3+ hours of pushing before we decided between forceps or C section. I had to be induced after 11 days being overdue. I would hope that with this next pregnancy I can go naturally and have way less medications than I had the first time. I want to trust that my body knows what to do, but I need to help train it to achieve my goal. I understand despite some things are out of my control, I can help myself to have a better delivery and post partum outcome. 1. Monmouth Medical Center 2.
