I am a professional visual artist and certified postpartum doula that was drawn to the world of birthwork due to my natural ability to nurture and connect with young children and their caregivers. I am the daughter of a single mother and a member of a community shaped by diverse family dynamics; I have a deep, personal understanding of the challenges that come with raising a child in complex environments. I want to provide hands-on, practical care while navigating through a challenging, yet rewarding, transitionary period. I offer evidence-backed and culturally rooted healing knowledge to enrich the postpartum experience. My approach to supporting families is rooted in empathy, with an emphasis on helping caregivers exercise their autonomy and find their inner strength.

Nijah Smith was a great doula during my postpartum experience. What stood out the most was how naturally connected she was with my baby girl. She instantly analyzed what she needed, and responded with such calm confidence. Nijah assisted greatly with household tasks, helping me latch, and helping her settle. Because she was so attentive, observant, and proactive with the baby, I actually got to rest—and real rest. I felt safe enough to sleep because I knew my daughter was in good hands. I’m deeply grateful for her, and I would recommend her to any parent who wants someone alert ,gentle, and proactive to support their family.
