About me

Hi, I'm Nikki, founder of Maternalaide and a postpartum doula and Certified Nursing Assistant specializing in newborn and postpartum care. I support families during the early weeks and months after bringing baby home, with a particular focus on overnight newborn care, feeding support, healthy sleep foundations, and helping parents feel confident caring for their new baby. My approach is calm, practical, and personalized. Whether I'm caring for baby overnight so parents can get restorative sleep, helping establish sustainable routines, supporting feeding, or guiding new parents through the everyday questions that come with newborn life, my goal is to make the transition home feel more manageable and supported. I serve families throughout Manhattan Beach and the surrounding South Bay communities and offer both daytime and overnight postpartum support.

As a Postpartum Doula and Certified Nursing Assistant, I offer experienced newborn care, overnight support, feeding assistance, sleep guidance, and practical postpartum support tailored to each family’s needs.

A signed agreement and retainer are required to reserve dates.

4-Week Overnight Newborn Support

Four weeks of consistent overnight newborn and postpartum support designed to help your family rest and settle into a sustainable routine. Includes newborn care, feeding support, soothing and settling, sleep guidance, baby-related care, and overnight documentation. Schedule is customized to your family's needs and availability. Includes 4 nights per week, 8 hours per night, for 4 consecutive weeks. Additional nights or hours may be added based on availability.

Nikki is an absolute rockstar! Nikki helped us for about 3 months. I noticed a positive difference with Rogan every single day after Nikki had spent the night. He was calm and super happy, and stuck to his schedule the next day! Nikki always came on time (or early) and stayed until she was sure he was settled. I was originally extremely nervous to have someone help us sleep train Rogan. Nikki's obvious care and love eased every worry, and I actually slept through the night. What happens during overnight postpartum support?

During overnight care, I provide hands-on newborn support so parents can get meaningful rest. Depending on your family's needs, this may include feeding support, bottle preparation and cleaning, diaper changes, soothing and settling, newborn sleep guidance, baby-related tidying, and overnight documentation. For breastfeeding families, I can bring baby to you for feeds and handle the remaining care so you can return to sleep.

How do I reserve my postpartum support dates?

After a complimentary consultation, I’ll create a personalized care plan based on your due date, preferred schedule, and support needs. Your dates are officially reserved once your service agreement is signed and the required retainer is received. Because postpartum availability is limited, families are encouraged to reserve care during pregnancy whenever possible.

Do you offer flexible schedules or only overnight packages?

Both. Families may book postpartum and newborn care at my hourly rate or choose a more structured support package. Schedules can be tailored around your family's needs, including overnight and daytime support, subject to availability. During our consultation, we can determine the schedule and level of support that best fits your family.

Can you support breastfeeding and bottle-feeding families?

Yes. I support each family's feeding choices without judgment. Care can include breastfeeding support, bringing baby to you for overnight feeds, bottle preparation and cleaning, paced bottle-feeding, burping, soothing, and tracking feeds. My role is to support your established feeding plan and help make feeding and overnight care feel more manageable.
