I have been working with postpartum women since 2006. I am the founder of Placenta Benefits, an informational resource and training organization dedicated to natural postpartum recovery. My book on postpartum recovery was published in 2014 - The Postpartum Survival Guide - which is now available on Amazon. I also teach my Postpartum Survival Course based on the book several times a year. I have a passion for helping birthing people settle into their new normal after the birth of their baby. I'm here to help!

I had my baby in April 2022 and pre scheduled Jodi to encapsulate my placenta. While I was in touch with her she was always helpful and responsive. After that I decided to do a pampering “after birth” ceremony with her. It was nice and relaxing and had a lot of pampering parts to it. As time went on and since this is my first baby I realized I was overwhelmed and needed night help; I was just flat out exhausted and knew I needed some sort of help because My husband is a surgeon so there was no way I could ask him to share duties with me. I asked Jodi if she knew anyone who offers night service and she said she actually offered that service. Jodi ended up staying with my baby at night for 4 months so I could get much needed rest. She was always on time, she was so careful with My Baby and became close to my husband and I. Jodi is an incredible trustworthy soul. I’m pregnant again and can’t wait to hire her for round two. You won’t regret inviting Jodi into your home. She’s a special, giving, loving caretaker for your bundle of joy. Ps- you can see my review I left her on Yelp as well. And yes, the placenta caps work and are amazing. I didn’t get any depression and felt like I had some energy back when I took them. I had no issues with them at all. I loved them.

Kelcey Dabel

Hey there! I’m Kelcey, a born-and-raised Las Vegas native, wife, homeschooling mom, doula, and student midwife. My journey into birth work hasn’t looked quite like I originally imagined, but I can see God’s hand in every step. I once dreamed of becoming a NICU nurse, but He led me down a different path that I’m incredibly grateful for. My own birth experiences have shaped me in ways I could never have anticipated, and my journey through unexplained secondary infertility after my second baby gave me a deeper understanding of just how personal, complex, and emotional the road to growing a family can be. That season sparked a passion for learning more about fertility, conception, and the many challenges families may face along the way. Over the past 10 years as a doula, I’ve grown so much in my knowledge, experience, and understanding of the incredible privilege it is to walk alongside families during some of the most vulnerable and life-changing moments of their lives. My philosophy on birth is rooted in my belief that birth is a powerful, God-designed process that deserves to be treated with respect, patience, and trust. I believe women are capable, their bodies deserve to be trusted, and birth should be approached with confidence rather than fear. I’m passionate about supporting physiological birth and helping women feel informed, empowered, and confident in their choices. To me, supporting a woman doesn’t mean telling her what her birth should look like; it means giving her the information, encouragement, and space she needs to make the decisions that are right for her and her family. I believe every family deserves to be heard, respected, and treated with compassion, regardless of their birth preferences or how their journey unfolds. As a Christian, I see this work as more than a job; it’s a calling and an opportunity to love and serve others in a deeply meaningful way. My heart is to be a calm, encouraging presence, a compassionate advocate, and a source of truth and support as families navigate pregnancy, birth, and beyond. Ultimately, I want the families I serve to feel less alone, more confident, and reminded of the beauty, strength, and purpose woven into their unique stories.

I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about my doula and the experience I had with her. As a first-time mom, I didn’t fully understand the importance of having a doula until I experienced firsthand how much of a difference the right person can make. Now, I can confidently say that having her by my side was one of the best decisions I made throughout my pregnancy and birth journey. From the beginning, she equipped me with knowledge, resources, and the confidence to advocate for myself. She took the time to educate me on different medical interventions, my rights as a patient, labor preparation, and the importance of understanding my options so I could make informed decisions about my body and my baby. She never made me feel rushed or judged for asking questions. Her patience, wisdom, and ability to explain things in a way that made sense truly set her apart. Having a birth plan was very important to me, and I am so grateful to say that I was able to have the vaginal birth experience I envisioned. There was a moment during labor when I was under an epidural and not fully aware of everything happening around me. One of my birth plan requests regarding Pitocin was not being honored, and when concerns arose about my baby’s elevated heart rate, I worried that the situation might lead to conversations about alternative delivery methods before I had the opportunity to fully understand what was happening and discuss my options. My doula reminded me of my rights, reassured me that my voice mattered, and encouraged me to stand firm in my wishes while continuing to communicate with my medical team. In a vulnerable moment when I needed reassurance the most, she helped me feel empowered rather than powerless. I truly believe the knowledge and confidence she instilled in me played a significant role in helping me navigate those moments and remain an active participant in my birth experience. In the end, I successfully delivered my baby vaginally, pushed him out in just a few pushes, and had no tearing. I am incredibly proud of that experience, and I know the preparation and education I received helped me feel more confident going into labor. She also taught me so much about preparing my body for birth. I implemented the practices she recommended, including eating dates daily starting around 34–35 weeks, drinking raspberry leaf tea, curb walking, and doing pelvic floor exercises. Beyond the physical preparation, she helped me prepare mentally and emotionally for labor, which was just as valuable. Another thing I deeply appreciate is how her guidance helped my partner better understand what women experience during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. Her education helped him gain a better understanding of how to support me, and I believe that knowledge will continue to positively impact our family as we navigate parenthood together. Her support extended beyond the delivery room. I appreciated the thoughtful gifts, pregnancy check-ins, and the resources she provided throughout both my pregnancy and postpartum journey. It was clear that her care went beyond simply fulfilling a role. She genuinely wanted me to feel supported, informed, and prepared. As a woman of color, maternal advocacy is especially important to me. My family even expressed how much they wished this type of support and advocacy had been available when they were having children years ago, and I couldn’t agree more. Too many women, particularly women of color, have experienced feeling overlooked, dismissed, or unheard during pregnancy and childbirth. Having someone who understands the importance of patient education, informed consent, and speaking up when something isn’t right is invaluable. Every woman deserves to feel safe, respected, informed, and empowered during one of the most vulnerable experiences of her life. I am so grateful our paths crossed. Her knowledge, patience, compassion, and dedication to her clients speak volumes about her skill set and the value she brings to families. I will wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula in Las Vegas because I genuinely believe every expecting mother deserves the kind of support she provides. If I ever decide to have another child, there is no question that I would want her by my side again. She helped make one of the most important experiences of my life empowering, educational, and beautiful, and I will always be grateful for that. If you’re considering hiring a doula, please don’t underestimate the value of having someone like her in your corner. She is truly a blessing to the families she serves! ❤️
