My wife and I are currently looking for a birth doula Our estimated due date is March 28, 2027, and we are planning to deliver at Hoag Hospital. We have Anthem Blue Cross insurance through LAUSD, and we are currently trying to confirm our doula benefits and which providers may be covered in-network. We also found that National Doula Network appears in-network under our Anthem plan. Could you please let us know whether you currently accept or bill Anthem Blue Cross, whether you work through National Doula Network or another insurance network, and whether your services for prenatal support, labor/birth support at Hoag, and postpartum care may be covered through insurance? I plan on birthing in San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland CA. I would like to have as least medical interventions as possible however while still in a hospital setting in case it is medically necessary to intervene. I would like to have a doula for supporting my husband and I in preparation for this to be possible as well as postpartum support to help me get settled in as a new mother healing from birthing. I don’t have a set budget as I am unaware of the costs that go into this. But we are willing to work towards meeting our needs. I would like to be informed of all my childbirth options, like how much is covered through my insurance, maternity leave and childcare for when I return to work. I am covered through Blue Shield Trio HMO and have a medical group called Optum Network Inland Valley.

I would love some birthing support! Hoag Irvine birth center or Providence Mission Viejo is where I will give birth. This is my second baby, and the first time I got the epidural but it didn’t work. I would love to learn new positions and other pain relief during birth and not use the epidural. My husband is deployed now, and might not be there for the birth.
