I am planning to give birth at Frederick Health Hospital (Frederick General Hospital) in Frederick, Maryland. My estimated due date is May 15, 2026. This will be my second baby, and I am hoping for a supportive birth environment with a doula who is familiar with hospital births. am looking to work with a doula who accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance or whose services may be covered or partially reimbursed through this insurance. I am also interested in postpartum support for approximately two weeks after delivery, so I am open to discussing the budget depending on insurance coverage and the services included My goal is to have a natural, unmedicated birth if possible. I would appreciate a doula who can provide calm emotional support, help with breathing techniques and labor positions, and support my preferences for a low-intervention birth whenever it is safe for both baby and me. I have a 2 year old girl and I am currently pregnant. Following the birth of my first child, I required a lot of support from my father, who passed away this year. We have friends and family able to provide occasional support, but my husband and I are worried that we may need extra support following the birth of our second child. If the birth goes smoothly, we anticipate needing someone to help make meals for me, light cleaning, and being another set of eyes on our toddler. Sleep is the biggest concern, so a night nanny might be something we need, or at least want to have at the ready. I am planning on giving birth at Almonte Hospital. I live in Carleton Place. I plan on having a natural delivery (not a planned c-section). My last birth was fairly smooth (laughing gas for pain, episiotomy and vacuum delivery, home from hospital after 2 night stay), so I am hoping for a similar experience. Our budget is quite flexible, we know we will need the help, we estimated maybe up to $100 a day or $300 a week? It's hard to guess how much help we will need, but want to be ready for worst case scenario.

I’m looking for a postpartum doula to support me and my family as we welcome our second child. My goal is to have a positive, supported postpartum experience — both physically and emotionally — while adjusting to life with a newborn and a busy toddler. I plan to birth vaginally in the hospital, as I did with my first, and I did not have a doula previously. This time, I would love more hands-on support and guidance during the recovery and adjustment period at home. One of my biggest priorities is breastfeeding support. With my first son, he spent the first four days in the nursery and had difficulty latching once we were together. I also have inverted nipples, which added to the challenge. I worked with a lactation consultant, but it became overwhelming trying to balance nursing and pumping, and I eventually transitioned to exclusively pumping. For this baby, I would really like to breastfeed successfully and feel confident doing so. I would appreciate a doula with strong lactation knowledge who can offer practical help and encouragement with positioning, latch, and feeding routines — as well as support if I choose to combine nursing and pumping. Beyond feeding, I’m looking for general postpartum support — someone who can help ease the transition by caring for the baby while I rest or shower, light household help (meals, laundry, tidying), emotional support, and gentle guidance through recovery. I want to focus on healing, bonding with my baby, and adjusting as a family of four, and I value having someone calm, nurturing, and experienced by my side during this time.

Wanting to give birth in a birthing center and stay away from hospitals. A water birth would be the perfect scenario. We don’t have a budget yet but would like to keep it cost effective and be able to use our insurance. I want a natural birth with as much training as possible to prevent tears and intervention.
