This is my second child, my first will be 4 by the time baby arrives. Had a very hard postpartum with my first and want this time to be different and hope to avoid severe postpartum mental health by getting the assistance of a doula during birth and a night doula postpartum for a few days a week for the first weeks. I plan to give birth at a hospital. I had an epidural with my first and likely will with this one but would like to try to labor without for a bit so I can be mobile.

I’m in a bit of a unique situation, as I’ll be PCS’ing from Hawaii to Point Loma at the end of April 2026, which means I’ll be transferring care mid-pregnancy. Hospital birth Unsure of budget, I’m looking to have it covered through insurance (Cigna HMO)

I plan to give birth at Sharp Mary birch hospital. $1-3k is my estimated budget. Unfortunately, my Cigna insurance does not cover doula services but I’m interested in your out of pocket fees within my budget. For my birth plan, Epidural if needed but would like to do natural since I had back pain after my first baby 2023 using it.
