Someone to help prep me for a hospital unmedicated birth. Christian spiritual guidance with mental and physical preparation
I want support during labor and to be advocated with my birth plans
I will be giving birth in a hospital. I don’t have a budget right now, I have never used a doula so I don’t have much reference for what to expect price wise but I am open to a variety of prices. I plan on getting an epidural during labor. Really I am looking for someone to be my voice and my advocate during labor. My previous labor and delivery was a horrible experience with a doctor who quite honestly treated me like a body and not a person. She made decisions such as episiotomy with no question and not even any warning. She wouldn’t allow my nurse to even spray some lidocaine during stitches after a failed epidural and made comments to me that I needed to hurry up while pushing and was wasting her time. While I will be with a new doctor this time it is not a guarantee I will have my exact doctor and I am doing everything I can to prevent and experience like the first.
I am looking for a Doula to help me through natural labor and help my husband be more involved in my birth process. I will deliver at HCA Conroe and use their natural birthing room, if available, with the birthing tub for pain relief. I want a saline loc for GBS antibiotics (if positive; I probably am) and it to be turned off between doses for mobility. I also would like to labor in different positions/on birthing ball/tub or shower for relief. I have Invite Healthcare Community Plan and this is my 4th birth, first time being completely unmedicated, and first time seeking obt a Doula.
First baby, plan to give birth in a hospital not medicated, I would like to be in the water for my birth however hospital only offers water to help soothe pain and then when push time is ready they make you get out. My budget would be anywhere from $1000-$2000 and I do have insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield.
