We are expecting twin boys in December and are looking for an experienced postpartum doula or newborn care specialist for overnight support in Manhattan. Ideally, we would like help 4–5 nights per week, approximately 10–12 hours per night, for the first 1-2 months after delivery. We are specifically looking for someone with strong newborn experience, preferably someone who has cared for twins overnight independently. Support would include feeding, burping, diaper changes, soothing, bottle washing/preparation, and helping establish a safe sleep routine so that my husband and I can get some rest. Experience with premature or early-term babies would be a plus. CPR certification and references are preferred. We are flexible on the exact schedule and would love to discuss availability, experience with twins, and rates. Japanese-speaking would be a plus, but is not required.

First baby, will birth at Hackensack University Medical Center. I live in Jersey City NJ. Would love an unmedicated birth but I’m flexible with wherever this birth takes me. I plan to give birth at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. I am in the process of developing my birth plan. I generally prefer to not use medicine but open to exploring. I feel very strongly I do not want a Caesarian section. Looking for general assistance once we bring the child home, however, I would also be open to having someone be an advocate for me in the delivery room. Once the baby is home I will want someone to check for signs of infection, improvements or safety checks for the home and coaching the parents and mother-in-law on healthy habits.
