Hello! My name is Shannon. I'm a birth and postpartum doula serving the DFW and surrounding areas. I'd be honored to be considered as your doula. I am deeply passionate about helping every birthing person I work with feel informed and empowered in their decisions. I offer support for all births, including but not limited to: home births, water births, VBACs, and elective cesarean sections. No matter what you choose for your own birth journey, I will be by your side every step of the way. I will help you feel empowered in your choices, informed in every decision you make, medical or non-medical, and work with you to ensure you can focus on your new motherhood journey. Birth & Postpartum Doula packages and pricing

Birth Doula Support

With this package, I offer unwavering support to you and your family before, during and after birth. As your doula, I will be available via phone in order to routinely check on how you’re doing and see how I can help with any issue/concern that arises. I’m available 24/7 once you are two weeks out from your due date. FREE CONSULTATION: Our first meeting will be a phone call free of charge to you. This phone call usually lasts 30 minutes to an hour and helps us get to know each other. Then, you may decide if I'm a good fit for your birthing team or not. PHONE AND EMAIL SUPPORT: Please call, text, or email me anytime with concerns. I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. I take every client of mine seriously and want you to know that there are never too many questions for me. I'm here for you! PRENATAL VISITS: I offer 2 prenatal visits where we cover different topics such as your birthing vision, needs, self-advocacy, your birth plan, and more. LABOR SUPPORT: I offer continuous labor support starting from the moment you call me through your immediate postpartum period. In the event that you're experiencing prodromal labor, I also offer extra visits to help with positioning, sleep, and whatever else that can help make you comfortable. My goal as your doula is to be an asset to not just you but also anyone else you include in your birth team. I can be a quiet presence in the background that steps in when needed, or I can be the main person you lean on during labor and help guide other members of your birth team. This is your journey, and I want to enhance your experience as much as possible. BACK-UP DOULA SUPPORT: In extreme circumstances, I will reach out to my incredibly capable and knowledgeable network of doulas that can step in if I'm unable to attend your birth for whatever reason. The doula chosen as your back-up doula in this case is dependent on who is available during your labor. POSTPARTUM FOLLOW-UP VISITS: I offer 1 complimentary 2-hour postpartum visit following your delivery. During this period I can offer help with light housework, cooking, assist with postpartum healing, newborn care/support, and offer breastfeeding support if requested. COMMUNITY REFERRALS: I am blessed to be apart of a network of many incredibly knowledgeable birth workers in the DFW and surrounding area. I know midwives, lactation consultants, newborn care specialists, and many other professionals who can assist with any needs that may arise during your journey. Please don't hesitate to reach out even if something is beyond my scope of care; we can find another resource to assist you, together. If you choose to have a homebirth and are within 20 miles of the zip code 75009, there will be no mileage fee incurred. If your destination is beyond the 20 mile radius, a mileage fee can be negotiated upon hire.

Daytime Postpartum Doula Support

The early postpartum period is a beautiful time, but it can also be very stressful with lack of support. My role as your postpartum doula is to ensure you get the best information and care possible. A 30-60 minute consultation is offered free of charge to you. Upon hire and contract signing, I will do a home-visit with you so you may show me how you like tasks done in your home. I offer 3 hour minimum shifts where I help may help with but am not limited to: light house cleaning, cooking, breastfeeding/lactation support, feeding support, newborn care, and support with postpartum healing. I want to help you and other members of your household feel comfortable during this big transition. AREA OF SERVICE: I will travel up to 20 miles surrounding the 75009 zip code for no additional charge to services. Destinations outside of this area of service will incur a modest and fair mileage fee upon hire.

$25 USD · Per hour

Overnight Postpartum Support

A 30-60 minute consultation is offered free of charge to you. Upon hire and contract signing, I will do a home-visit with you so you may show me how you like tasks done in your home, assess sleeping habits if necessary, and more. I offer 8-hour overnight shifts where I can help with light house cleaning, provide feeding support, assist with breastfeeding/lactation, aid in postpartum healing, and (mostly) help new parents get the important sleep that they need! The postpartum period is very demanding of your time, and can deplete you of the sleep you need to power through your journey. Let me lend an extra hand so you can be your best self. AREA OF SERVICE: I will travel up to 20 miles surrounding the 75009 zip code for no additional charge to services. Destinations outside of this area of service will incur a modest and fair mileage fee upon hire.

What to expect

I offer birth doula services, postpartum doula services, and lactation support. Each service inquiry comes with a free 1 hour consultation. Since I do not take insurance, service costs for low-income families are available on a sliding scale. If you're interested in this, please mention this during your consultation. As your birth doula, you will have 24/7 access to call, email, or text me. I also offer complimentary 2 hour postpartum support, and you are able to split that up however you'd like. All my packages are customizable to your liking. As your postpartum doula, I am able to offer light housework, cooking, newborn care, post-birth healing assistance, lactation support if necessary, and so much more. I aim to not only serve the mother and baby, but all members of the household. Postpartum parents should be focused on their new baby, and should be surrounded by helping hands to keep unnecessary stress at a minimum. Individualized lactation support is also offered to those clients who need extra help during their postpartum period and new clients who are only seeking lactation assistance.

We hired Shannon as our doula to help with the birth. She was good about communicating with us beforehand, and had answers for all of our questions. She helped empower me during my labor and pushing, and I appreciated having her there to support, guide, and comfort me through that time. Once I had given birth, she taught me how to nurse my baby. I was glad to have such a supportive woman at my side through it all. She also took a lot of pressure off of my husband by comforting and encouraging me (since he didn’t quite know how to help me at that time), which we very much appreciated. Overall, it was a good experience.

I personally had such an amazing experience with Shannon! She was extremely attentive, friendly and informative. She was respectful of all my wishes and very helpful when I had questions, no matter when I reached out to her. This was my first pregnancy out of three where I had a birth plan I was completely comfortable with and that was all because of Shannon. It was great having someone that really advocated for me and my baby and I would highly recommend her to every pregnant Mama out there!
