first time mom looking at all my options! i would like to give birth at RVH but looking into midwife and dula ! i would LIKE to give birth naturally but need guidance on everything. Budget will be based off what is offered.

Interested in a Medicaid covered doula. Also have commercial insurance as well, just to be assisted during birth and sometime after. I have certain birth plans I would like to follow but have not set in stone, which is another reason I’m looking into a doula.

Hi Taylor. We are very excited to say we are expecting our first baby August 24th. We live in Cookstown. My in-laws live in Wasaga Beach, and have extra bedrooms to happily support our stay, to be closer, if needed. We are planning to deliver @ Collingwood hospital. We are interested in a birth package. Something that includes some prenatal, labour/birth support. Also would like options for postnatal/postpartum baby care support. Meeting prior to birth, either in person or on zoom would be helpful to make sure we are a good fit. We are open and excited to learn all that you have to shared, to make this a calm, beautiful, peaceful as possible experience for everyone. I would love Support during labor/delivery. Though I will have the support of my other half and my mom holding my hand. I love the idea of having a Doula who has experience with the script, almost like a yoga instructor, to help with guiding through the process, helping with relaxing and all that comes with the beauty of what you do. I plan to give birth in a hospital and am hoping my insurance will cover the cost. I want to try to do a natural birth with no epidural and delayed cord cutting, besides that I need a little help creating the rest of a birth plan, as this is my first child and I’m not really sure what to expect.

I do not have a provider that I regularly see, and I am interested in establishing care with a midwife. I would love to plan for a home birth. I experience significant anxiety, and I know that being in my home environment would provide the calm and sense of safety I need for both myself and my baby to support a positive birth experience. I am also interested in the option of laboring and or birthing in water. (want natural birth) We do have a deep bathtub at home, but I am also open to using a birthing pool if recommended. For my first appointment, I am also in need of a Pap smear and breast exam. My preferred birth method is a Trial of Labor after 2 Cesarean Sections. I had a very difficult time with my last elective c-section. I had a spinal fluid leak, required several medications and a blood patch, and mentally struggled with coping. I thought I was okay with another c-section, however, I ended up deeply regretting following through. I did have signs of labor approaching (contractions, losing mucus plug), but had a c-section at exactly 40 weeks. I would be okay with another c section if medically necessary. If the facility allows, I’d like to then do a maternal-assisted cesarean section.

I would like to have labour at home but currently don’t have a midwife. So as of right now I will be having the baby in a hospital. I am looking to have an unmedicated birth but this will be my first time. I need guidance and reassurance.
