Hi, I’m going to be a first time mom! As I am super excited and starting to plan my near future, I am also trying to navigate how I want my birthing experience to go. I know that I would like to have a hospital birth, which I believe I have found the perfect hospital for me. As of right now I am still researching this and that. Meaning, there are so many different birthing experiences. I’m sure everyone has their dream ideal labor and delivery story to which some come true and some do not. I am fully aware anything can happen but before we go there, I do have an “ideal” way I’d like to see my labor going. I would very much prefer an unmedicated birth. My main goal is no epidural. I do have a few different reasons as to why I don’t want it, but that is something we can always get into later if you’d like! I should also mention again, this is my goal! If at any point I get to a point during labor where I absolutely want it or feel that I need it, if able to, I will change my mind. I also would love to stay away from Pitocin as long as possible as long as there are no complications etc. of course if the labor is getting dangerous for me or baby, I understand. I am also hoping as my doula (when we find each other!) you will help me understand more about these. As long as things go as planned, I plan on my mother and boyfriend being present during my labor and birth. I also hope I can add another amazing support person to the list! Looking for someone who will not debate my choices. I'm a crunchy christian mom. No one that shows her pronouns or has gender dysmorphia. Prefer someone who is actually awake not "woke". I will be giving birth at Boone hospital with Dr. Borgmeyer, and my due date is May 20th. This is my first baby, and I'd like help advocating for my birth in the hospital. Birth plan is too much to elaborate on now, but I can provide that at a later time. We aren't sure on the budget, I'm not even sure how long they run!

My wife is in her first trimester of our first child. She is currently experiencing a lot of stress and anxiety related to the process surrounding pregnancy. She will give birth at a hospital and I believe do whatever is necessary to facilitate a happy and healthy baby with whatever options are available to her to make her pregnancy/birth go as smoothly as possible. She had an eating disorder in the past and was underweight but has worked very hard to be healthier. She wants the baby, it's something we've worked towards for a few years prior to her falling pregnant but now she actually is, there is a lot of stress and anxiety preventing her from finding any enjoyment during this time which she is struggling with. I believe we would benefit from someone grounded, 'down to earth' with a no-nonsense approach who is still very empathetic and understanding of her situation. We can budget accordingly depending if it's a mental expert therapist or doula

Hello, I am actually a doula (a newbie) working in Southeast Ohio. I was recently contacted by a couple in Athens Ohio who are looking for a doula, but they are both deaf. I do not know ASL, so I am searching for other doulas in Ohio who may have the skills to communicate with them and support them more effectively and who are willing to travel to Athens. Finding a doula for my labor and delivery at St. E’s I plan on laboring at home as long as humanely possible before going to the hospital. Planning for a physiological birth. Possibly looking into postpartum help for a few hours after delivery as well.
