Shervande ‘Shy’ Dorvil

So happy I picked Shy to watch my baby boy. Unfortunately, my maternity leave was only about a month, and I knew there was no way I would have been able to continue doing night shifts while working. I found Shy from a referral, and she really helped make my night so much easier! While I still had to wake up for breastfeeding, Shy was there for all the transitions and allowed me to really get the most sleep I could by taking care of literally everything. Even just the fact that my pump parts were always washed and ready to go made life so much easier! Even just watching her holding my baby, I could tell that she truly does care, and just that alone let me know my baby was always in good hands! Once again, thank you so much, Shy, couldn’t have done this without you!

I found Shy on here when me and my husband was looking for a newborn overnight nanny in the beginning of last year. My daughter had colic at around 2 weeks old and I was honestly a train reck and didn’t know what it do. It still feels like a fever dream sometimes. I don’t know how she did it, but Shy managed to take over for us to get some sleep and gave us some techniques that she liked to use to help soothe, Honeslty for about 6 months getting the sleep needed was such a relief and thankfully the colic went away at 3. But throughout it all Shy was there to help guide us and give us the assisstance we desperately needed.

Shy has been our nanny for the past two years and has become like part of our family! She started nannying full time for our twins when they were 7 months old and is only leaving us because we are sending them to preschool. We trust her completely in our home with our kids - she has even stayed for a whole weekend so we could go out of town. She is a great cook - she cooks healthy lunches for our boys and dinner for all of us once a week. She takes the boys to the park every day and keeps up with all of their energy! She has been awesome at keeping our boys on their schedule and is so affectionate and fun with them. We will miss her and would recommend her to anyone!

Shy was wonderful to work with, my son has autism and he can be a tough read with new people but he was immediately happy to see her. She followed directions. My main concern was making sure he took his nap. I've hired others before that were unable to do this and it really derails our entire week. He was in a great mood when I arrived from work and could tell he was well rested. My son seemed super comfortable with her and that is an incredible relief to me as a mother. I definitely trust her and she'll be the first one I hire when I inevitably need a sitter again!
