Hi, I’m Sheryl, founder of Dreams Delivered Birthing Services and a certified full-spectrum doula with a nursing background. I support families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with calm, compassionate, and evidence-based care. My approach honors the natural physiology of birth while also recognizing when medical support is appropriate. I believe families deserve to feel informed, respected, and empowered in every birth setting—whether that’s a hospital, birth center, or home. I specialize in emotional and physical labor support, advocacy, comfort measures, birth education, and gentle postpartum guidance. I am especially passionate about reducing unnecessary interventions by helping birthing people understand their options, trust their bodies, and feel confident in their choices. Every family I serve receives personalized care rooted in respect, balance, and deep listening. It would be an honor to walk alongside you as you welcome your baby.

With a background in nursing and certification as a full-spectrum doula, I blend evidence-based education with holistic, intuitive care—helping families feel confident, informed, and deeply supported every step of the way. Whether you’re preparing for labor, adjusting to life with a newborn, or seeking rest and balance in the early weeks, my approach is gentle, empowering, and grounded in respect for your unique journey. I believe birth is neither purely medical nor purely holistic, but a sacred process that deserves thoughtful support, calm presence, and loving guidance. My goal is to help you feel seen, safe, and strong as you welcome your baby and build the foundation of your growing family.

What is a doula?

Doula is a Greek word for servant; specifically a woman's servant. A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous emotional, physical, and informational support to a person and their family before, during, and after childbirth. While working with doctors or midwives and nursing staff, doulas do not provide medical care. Instead, they focus on comfort, advocacy, education, and support — helping families feel calm, confident, informed, and empowered throughout the entire birth experience.

What is the benefit of having a doula?

At Dreams Delivered Birthing Services, we provide evidence-based forms of support (non-medical pain management, education, positioning, breathing, massage and overall labor support. We also share evidence-based information so parents can make informed choices, support communication with medical providers, help families feel seen, heard, and respected and assist with postpartum recovery, newborn care, and adjustment. Evidence shows the presence and support of a doula can help reduce the rate of cesarean section, reduce the major contributors to maternal death and sever birth complications. Doula support is associated with: 31% decrease in use of synthetic oxytocin 10% shorter labors 38% reduction in negative birth experience More spontaneous vaginal births All of these reduce: • hemorrhage • infection • hypertensive crises • embolism risk • anesthesia complications Doula-supported births had significantly lower rates of preterm birth, low birth weight, and pregnancy complications — all major predictors of maternal death.

Does insurance cover doula care?

Though doula care can be an out-of-pocket expense, some insurance companies have started to recognize the benefits of birth/labor doulas and have started reimbursing some of the fees. If interested in insurance reimbursement, you can call your insurance to inquire. Ask them about the benefits and request prior authorization. We can also contact them for you. We can give you the codes to give your insurance and see what their percentage of coverage is. Typically you will need to pay for doula services and get reimbursed from your insurance company. We will provide you with a Superbill to bill to your insurance. We also accept FSA and HSA payments.
