Shyanne fell in love with birth in 2015, when she lived in Kenya and volunteered at the local hospital. Her strength lies in low intervention, physiological birth, but her ultimate goal is to help every family achieve a positive birth experience--every single family deserves the best birth experiences! Hello! I’m Katie Nyberg, a certified birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, lactation educator, and speaker based in Des Moines and Central Iowa. Since 2010, I’ve had the privilege of supporting hundreds of mothers, partners, and families through their childbirth journeys. My mission is to provide the essential care and support that expecting families often lack in today’s society. I love supporting all births and parenting styles. My goal is to help families feel prepared and supported as they embark on this new adventure of parenthood! In addition to my doula services, I’m a state-licensed educator and a frequent speaker for mothers, families, and healthcare providers. My name is Carter and I’ve been a birth and postpartum doula since May 2026. I got certified as a birth doula in July and I'm currently working on my certification for postpartum doula. My journey started when I had my son, and had a doula with him. He was in the NICU 76 days. During which time I had a lot of time to reflect on my birth, and how much I appreciated having a doula with me. I wanted to help families this way, and shift a change from working in mental health services. My doula style is one that puts emphasis on knowledge, empowerment, and advocacy. Adrian is a U.S. Army veteran and advocate for social justice, community development and birth equity. She believes that every woman has the right to access support and evidence-based information, which are the keys to having an empowered birth experience. She is professionally trained in childbirth, postpartum care, lactation, and COVID-19 community education and is a certified birth doula through DONA International and a certified lactation specialist. Founder of Motherland Doula Co., Adrian serves families in Central Iowa and provides in-person and virtual education, support and practical guidance. Her services are geared to support families physically, mentally and emotionally during their most precious season of life. When not involved in birth work, Adrian enjoys gardening, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
