5 week old baby born at 36w5d via C-section. I have a history of PCOS and the lactation consultant in the hospital told me I may have issues with low milk supply due to that. I was exclusively breastfeeding baby for about 2 weeks, but she began losing weight pretty rapidly so we started supplementing with formula and pumped breast milk. Baby girl is currently eating around 18 ounces a day. I stopped nursing for around 10 days so I could exclusively pump / power pump while my husband bottle fed her breastmilk / formula. I went from producing around 5 ounces a day to about 8 - 8.5. I am trying to reintroduce nursing with the goal of increasing milk supple and one day EBF (but of course supplementing as well with breastmilk as needed). She tends to get very sleepy on the breast when I do attempt to nurse her now. I would like latch evaluation, weighted feed evaluation, tips on increasing supply…really any help I can get as well as a plan / guide for moving forward feeding her. I am looking for someone who accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance and I would like in person appointments for hands on learning and evaluation.
