My name is Liza Hameza (Schaefer). I’m a mother of 4, doula, educator, and podcaster who’s spent 15 years studying birth in the fields. What began as a personal story has grown into a lifelong calling. Since then, I’ve supported over 490 births in different birthing settings, guided hundreds of parents through childbirth preparation and the first tender months with their newborns. Alongside modern doula practices, I weave in the wisdom of postpartum traditions I’ve learned in different countries - Belarus, Ukraine, Germany and Cyprus - rituals that honor a mother’s strength and nurture recovery. In addition to my one-on-one work with families, I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring doulas worldwide. I lead specialized trainings, and have been invited to speak at international conferences on birth and parenthood. I also created Oxytocin World, a podcast that brings together midwives, anthropologists, psychologists, researchers, and doulas to share knowledge about birth, parenting, and relationships. I believe birth is more than a medical event - it’s a profound initiation for families, one that deserves care, respect, and continuity. My role is to walk beside you in that journey: grounding, encouraging, and offering both practical tools and emotional support. Outside of doula work, I feel most alive when cooking, practicing yoga, running, hiking in the mountains, or just being with my family. These everyday joys keep me grounded and remind me what truly matters.

Hi, I’m Christina! I’m a birth doula, educator, and founder of Big Fat Pregnancy. I provide warm, evidence-informed, nonjudgmental support throughout pregnancy and birth. I specialize in supporting people in larger bodies and navigating weight stigma and anti-fat bias in maternity care. My practice is fat-positive, LGBTQ+ affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, and trauma-informed—and you don’t need to identify as fat to work with me. I believe there’s no one “right” way to give birth. My role is to help you understand your options, advocate for what matters to you, and feel respected and supported as your birth unfolds. I’m a certified full-spectrum doula and Washington State Certified Doula serving families throughout the greater Seattle area.

With a background as a lactation consultant and childbirth educator, she is committed to offering inclusive, evidence-based care that spans the journey from pregnancy to birth. Kirsten specializes in birth doula services, childbirth education, and placenta encapsulation, ensuring families feel deeply supported, informed, and prepared for their unique transition into parenthood. Kirsten has received certification from Madriella and training from Whole Body Pregnancy, Pro Doula, Lactation Educational Resources, Brilliant Birth Academy, Body Ready Method, and ICEA.

Since graduating Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University in 2019, I have accumulated invaluable newborn and infant care experience in an array of preschool and nannying positions. As a fully trained postpartum doula pursuing certification through DONA International, fostering the intrinsic and profound bond between new parents and their little ones is my life's purpose.
