Holistic nutritional full circle doula, Lorenda provides educational, emotional, and physical support to moms and their support team through their journey of parenthood. She received her certificate as community-based doula at Black Mothers Breastfeeding Association (BMBFA) in 2018 and trained as a full circle doula with Shafia Monroe Consulting, 2022. In January 2023, Lorenda became a Medicaid Provider as a doula, and trains other doulas to become Medicaid providers for the state of Michigan. As a leader, Lorenda serves on the Doula Advisory Council with the State of Michigan and is the president at Motor City Doula Association where she leads monthly meet ups with other doulas in the community.

After spending time with parents who had relatively no postpartum care or support, I soon started my training to bridge that gap. I am a DONA-certified birth doula practicing in the Ann Arbor, MI area. I believe that doula support is a right, not a privilege, so my fees are nominal and my services are above and beyond. In addition to the usual DONA certification training, I am also trained through Survivor Moms and I also volunteer with the Michigan Prison Doula Initiative, in addition to my private practice. I have no time cut-off, so if your labor is moving slowly, I will stay with you all the way.
