I’m on frequent NST testing & sonograms weekly due to high risk pregnancy. This is my 7th pregnancy & I need support in advocating for my needs as well as my babies. I’m looking for someone to just overall be a support person for me. I have a scheduled C-section already planned. I have Medicaid and fedelis as insurance.

Birth Doula

I am planning a birth center birth at Reading midwife center. I had a very traumatic first birth at Lehigh valley hospital almost 4 years ago so I am hoping for different experience. I am finding I need more support than I thought to prepare for birth and handling the pregnancy hormones as I’ve been very weepy this pregnancy. My mother is not very supportive of a birth center birth so I do not think she will be helpful there. My husband will need support to support me as birth grosses him out as most things of the like. Since we are planning birth center birth we are looking for natural birth with no medical intervention. I am Hoping for this experience to heal me of my birth trauma from my last. Budget: to be honest I am not sure how much these services typically cost but I’ve heard around $1200 to be standard perhaps. As I know insurance typically does not cover this service as it is not medical. Interested in counter pressure, Massage and other helpful coping strategies to help through labor and delivery. Along with reassurance and positive affirmations and vibes to help east my anxiety about birth.

I'm higher risk (advanced maternal age) and so definitely plan on a hospital birth. I'm looking for a doula, a night nanny and postpartum support. We are new to the area and don't have family or any support locally so we'll be relying heavily on our team for support. We're not sure on a budget, but are open to learning more. I would love to give birth at home or a birthing center and not a hospital, my out of pocket budget would ideally be around 3,500 to 5,000 but am wondering if my insurance covers any costs with united Healthcare. I’m very interested in having a midwife as my primary provider, and I’d also like to work with a doula who collaborates well with midwives during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I would like to deliver at Paoli Hospital or Pottstown Hospital, whichever is most appropriate based on my care team and availability. I would like an estimate of the cost for prenatal care and delivery with a midwife. Is my insurance accepted, and what would my out-of-pocket expenses likely be? Birth plan and preferences for your reference: Labor & Pain Management: • Prefer non-medical pain relief first: walking, changing positions, hydrotherapy (shower/bath), breathing techniques. • Intermittent fetal monitoring preferred over continuous, unless medically indicated. • Avoid routine interventions (induction, episiotomy, continuous IV fluids) unless medically necessary. • Open to midwife/OB guidance if complications arise. Delivery Preferences: • Upright positions, hands-and-knees, or side-lying for pushing. • Immediate skin-to-skin with baby after birth. • Delayed cord clamping. • Gentle delivery techniques for both mother and baby. Newborn Care: • Breastfeeding as soon as possible. • Limit unnecessary newborn procedures.

Plan to give both in hospital. Looking for a birth doula during labor process in hospital. Then looking for a postpartum doula or nanny (to help support mom with baby and toddler at home postpartum). Would ideally like 2-3 months of help, as my husband travels a lot for work.
