Sara, has saved my sanity. I think she's saved my husbands too- simply because of my lessened anxiety. I'm a type A girl when it comes to time, and let me tell you, when a baby doesn't sleep, it certainly doesn't help. As a first time mom and a dual business owner, I am a very "do-it yourself" kind of gal. Before two of my friends recommended Sara, I was navigating the web, on new-mom forums, researching myself, and using ChatGPT to try to help with my infants sleep. Did it help, I'd say sometimes, but it never truly made a lasting difference. I was convinced I could do it myself, until I couldn't. I have a wonderful, happy baby. At a young age, she was able to put herself to sleep. However, as she got older, and woke up to the world, it could take us an hour or more to get her to sleep. And somedays, there would simply be no sleep. I needed help, for my baby and my sanity. Sara has taught my husband and I so many things. Let's just start by saying not only does my little girl fall asleep independently, but she also sleeps overnight . She's taught us how to navigate sleep and infant illness. She's reminded us that although babies like consistency, they are amenable to schedule changes and it will not ruin EVERYTHING. She's also made us realize that a sleep failure is not "our fault". Babies are babies and sometimes they beat to their own drum. She's a calm in a whirlwind of a storm. So, if you're questioning hiring Sara and you are anything like I was- DO IT. The first two weeks may be a challenge, but it will change your life with your baby, I promise!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Ireta Hunter. From the moment labor began, she was a calming and reassuring presence. She stayed right by my side, rubbing my feet through contractions, offering words of encouragement, and helping me stay grounded and focused. She recommended sitting on the peanut ball during my labor and it was a game changer from my previous labor. Because of her support, I was able to have the natural birth I had hoped for—it was truly an empowering experience that I will carry with me forever. She reminded me of my strength at every step, and I felt safe, supported, and confident in my choices. Even after birth, she continued to check in and offer postpartum support, which meant so much during those first tender days. Her compassion, knowledge, and gentle presence made such a difference in my journey in motherhood. If you’re looking for a doula who is not only skilled but truly cares about you as a whole person, I wholeheartedly recommend Ireta Hunter. She helped me welcome my baby into the world in the most beautiful way, and I am endlessly grateful.

With years of experience and a deep commitment to exceptional newborn and postpartum care, I am a certified, fully insured, CPR and First Aid-certified, professional doula dedicated to providing an elevated level of support to growing families. It has been my privilege to serve countless families throughout my career, many of whom have welcomed me back for each of their children and graciously referred me to their family and friends. These enduring relationships are a reflection of the trust, consistency, and personalized care that define my practice. I believe that truly exceptional postpartum support extends far beyond newborn care. Every family deserves a calm, reassuring presence, thoughtful guidance, and the flexibility to adapt to their evolving needs. My approach is intuitive, discreet, and tailored to each family's unique routines, preferences, and parenting philosophy, allowing parents to recover, rest, and embrace this extraordinary season with confidence and peace of mind. My professional expertise is complemented by the invaluable perspective of raising four children of my own, including singletons and multiples born through both spontaneous vaginal deliveries and Cesarean birth. This combination of extensive hands-on experience and personal insight enables me to anticipate the needs of both parents and newborns with confidence, compassion, and exceptional attention to detail. Supporting families during this precious time is more than my profession—it is my calling. I consider it a true privilege to provide the highest standard of newborn and postpartum care, creating an environment where families feel nurtured, supported, and confident from the very beginning.

I am a full-spectrum doula, offering support in reproductive health, birth and labor, and postpartum care in Connecticut and Rhode Island. I love doula work because I deeply value the one-to-one relationships I build with clients, walking alongside them during one of the most important and transformative experiences of their lives. My passion for supporting, educating, and empowering people giving birth comes from my commitment to addressing the maternal and infant health disparities that disproportionately affect Black women. My goal is to help all birthing people—especially Black women—feel confident, informed, and supported by: learning to trust their bodies, learning to trust themselves to make informed decisions and advocate for the birth experience they desire, and receiving culturally responsive, non-clinical emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. It would be an honor to support you on your birth journey. I work collaboratively with you and your support team to create an experience where you feel confident, informed, and surrounded by care, love, and respect. I welcome you to schedule a free, 30-minute consultation to help us get to know one another, decide if we're a good fit and so that I can also answer any questions you may have. Ryann Cordaro

Ryann Cordaro

Hi, I’m Ryann, a certified birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and proud mom of four. I live on Long Island, where I’m raising my family and serving growing families in the community I love. My journey into motherhood has deeply shaped who I am and how I show up as a doula. I’ve experienced firsthand the joy, intensity, vulnerability, and transformation that birth and postpartum bring; and I carry that lived wisdom into every space I enter. Before stepping into this work full-time, I spent 13 years in corporate healthcare and hold a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration. That experience gives me a strong foundation in organization, communication, and advocacy - skills I now bring into supporting families with clarity, confidence, and care. I’ve always had a passion for supporting women - for advocating when they don’t feel heard, for empowering them when they’re unsure, and for holding space when things feel overwhelming or unpredictable. My mission is to remind every mother that they are worthy of care, choice, and support — no matter how their journey unfolds. Whether you’re planning a home birth surrounded by loved ones, delivering in a hospital, choosing a cesarean, or navigating an unmedicated or medicated birth - I meet you where you are. There is no “right” way to bring a baby into the world, and I tailor my care to support your unique story, values, and vision. Through Four Roots Doula, I offer evidence-based education, emotional support, advocacy, and hands-on care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My role is to be a steady, calm presence - someone you can trust to show up fully, without judgment, with compassion and clarity. I am also CPR certified, adding an extra layer of preparedness and safety to the care I provide. Birth is beautiful. So is the strength that rises in you when you’re supported. I’d be honored to be part of your story.

Ruby White

8 years of experience

Ruby White has been a certified full spectrum doula for 8 years. She completed the in-person portion of her certification in Brooklyn, NY with Doula Trainings International (DTI). Serving birthing people and their partners as they go through the major life transition of becoming parents has been her joy since 2018. Her goal is for parents to feel empowered in the entirety of their experience – to be able to ask for the support they desire and to receive it while trusting their body’s ability and the physiological process of birth. Ruby’s strength as a doula is her empathetic, holistic, and inclusive approach, as well as her versatility. She has served families in all types of birth scenarios – hospital, birth center, homebirth, with medication and without. As a doula, her deepest wish is that all patients receive comprehensive and compassionate maternal healthcare, as well as hands on comfort measures and a nourishing presence in their birthing and postpartum spaces. Whether she is providing massage and hip squeezes in labor or assisting with the first latch of breastfeeding - she is honored to be present for every step of the journey. She will always advocate for your birthing preferences to be respected and is committed to showing up with a kind ear, an open heart, and caring hands to serve new families and their babies. Above all, she will hold space for your birth to feel beautiful, safe, intimate, and sacred, always with a dash of humor! When she is off duty, she enjoys singing, acting, writing poetry, being in nature/with animals, and spending time with her family.
