Wendy was such a blessing during my pregnancy and birth. When I was scared, she prayed for me, encouraged me, and made me feel supported. I was not progressing very much and without hesitation she had a plan and the tools I needed to implement that plan. Also a special shout out to her birth assistant, she also made me feel very supported, like a close friend holding my hand to the bathroom after birth, rubbing my back during labor, I am so thankful to have had each of them with me during the process. I will miss seeing them all the time!

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Wendy and the Tri-Cities Homebirth team in the birth of our first baby. The quality of care provided was exceptional. From the very beginning, they guided us through every step of pregnancy with patience, compassion, and deep knowledge. When it came time for the birth, Wendy’s calm confidence and expertise made all the difference. As the husband, I was so grateful for how approachable they were, always taking time to answer my questions and help me understand how to best support my wife. Wendy, you truly are an answered prayer. We are so thankful for everything you’ve done for our family!

We loved our experience with Tri-Cities Home Birth!! Wendy is a kind and understanding person. We so appreciated that at each prenatal visit, she would lay out the facts and give us time for upcoming decisions, with no pressure or judgement one way or the other. I had gestational diabetes and Wendy helped us navigate that to keep me lower risk throughout the pregnancy. We were able to keep it controlled with diet, exercise, and supplements and I had a perfect size baby boy!! This was my first baby, and we didn’t know what options were available locally for other supportive care. She referred us to an incredible prenatal chiropractor, a lactation consultant, and our pediatrician who have been huge supports to us through pregnancy and postpartum. The network of complimentary care was wonderful. She was amazing at the birth. After a beautiful and fast labor, I unfortunately ended up hemorrhaging, and she managed it quickly, professionally and calmly. I needed some stitches afterwards and she was fast and gentle getting me put back together! What could have been an episode of birth trauma, I instead remember as an unfortunate incident where I received top-level, compassionate care. We loved the level of care we received and our friendship with Wendy. Thank you Wendy! ❤️

Can’t express just how grateful I am that I had Wendy and her team for our homebirth. She takes the time during pregnancy appointments to inform and educate while giving you options. Our birth was beautiful. Both my husband and I felt supported, confident, and cared for. I would highly recommend Tri-Cities Home Birth to anyone considering home birth. This was my first baby, and I felt completely empowered from this experience!

It’s hard to put into words the impact that Wendy had on my experience through pregnancy and delivery as I welcomed my third child. Having experienced a previous home birth out of state and then using Wendy I can truly say she is someone you want on your birth team. Through the course of the pregnancy Wendy was able to offer support through her knowledge of nutrition and supplements. I would explain a symptom that would arise and she would offer a natural solution, supplement, or remedy. During labor she extended her knowledge in getting me into optimal birthing positions. What I appreciated most is that during labor she was encouraging while also giving me the space to work through labor on my own accord. When I needed her though she was there to see me through. Wendy gifted me a beautiful birthing experience and I will forever be grateful for her love and support.

Wendy lead me on the most valuable journey of my life and earned my unrelenting trust as my midwife. She is strong, intelligent, and deeply compassionate while providing care that is dedicated and individualized. My questions were always immediately addressed, and my fears dispelled. I felt my baby and I were as safe as could be the whole time. She also has the most incredible team of women by her side all of whom I was blessed to have present throughout my pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Thanks to Wendy and all her shared knowledge and advice, I had a smooth pregnancy, a successful home birth, and a blissful post partum experience. She advocates for, and provides, the birthing experience all women deserve. I cannot recommend her services highly enough!

I read a book when pregnant with my firstborn that said something like, “if women knew what options were available to them they would always choose home birth.” I couldn’t agree with that more. If you’re considering home birth at all you should call Wendy. To be in the comfort and safety of your own home when giving birth and then the days after with your newborn is absolutely priceless. Not to mention the ~$4000 you’ll pay is likely a lot less than a hospital bill. Being a former nurse and having my first in the hospital, I know my second born would have had to go to the NICU and a nervous doctor might have whisked me away to a csection due to baby’s low heart tones and my previous C-section. But because of Wendy’s training and expertise she handled everything perfectly at home and my 6 week old is doing amazingly. I know the idea of a home birth scares some women because they feel that if anything goes wrong they’ll be in danger. Wendy is prepared for anything and appears to me to have much better training than most doctors I’ve met. Please give her a call if home birth is on your mind and I know she’ll put your fears at ease.

Wendy was absolutely amazing. She reminded me of my mom, in all the best ways. I felt safe to ask questions (and I asked a lot) and she always helped me make informed choices. I was always treated with kindness and graciousness and never felt belittled (which was sadly not the case with the doctors from my previous pregnancies). She is compassionate and filled with joy that made giving birth much easier.

Absolutely love Wendy. This was my first pregnancy and she has been a wealth of knowledge. She has gone above and beyond in the giving of her time and I truly appreciated her experience and personableness and that she was always considerate of my wishes. I had a fairly significant bleed following delivery in which she was able to stop. I honestly didn't pay much attention until after the fact as I had a healthy baby in my arms. It was very special to have my husband next to me throughout all of labor. He was a little hesitant of doing a homebirth in the beginning but after delivery it was neat to hear him say he couldn't imagine doing a hospital birth and he wouldn't want to do it any other way next time (that goes without saying we would want the same midwife again as well!). I am also so grateful for the follow-up postpartum Wendy does!

We just had our fourth baby in January but it was our first time to use Miss Wendy! She was amazing! She is a very caring and knowledgeable midwife. She became more than just a midwife to me and my family, we truly consider her a friend! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who wants a wonderful at home experience! You will feel her love in everything she does! If we have any more we will certainly be asking for her services again!!

Tri-Cities Home Birth was the biggest blessing. I cannot thank God enough for this experience. Wendy is amazing! I did home birth with my second child, and I would never have a baby any other way, with any other midwife! You and your baby are in the best of hands with Tri-Cities Home Birth! I could honestly write a book about how wonderful this experience was, from the day we met until the very end. I remember after the last postpartum visit calling my husband and saying, "I'm so sad this has to come to an end." I feel that speaks volumes. Wendy took such great care of us; she did things for me during labor that would have never been offered anywhere else. I cannot say enough good things about Tri-Cities Home Birth! I highly recommend and if I have another little one, I will not go anywhere else. If Wendy leaves this area, I will move or make the drive, whatever it takes for Wendy to be the midwife that cares for us and delivers my baby.

Wendy was such a blessing to my husband and I. My birth did not turn out as planned, but Wendy was with us every step of the way. She was so supportive during our hospital stay. She cried and laughed with us. Through the very hard times and through the really good ones too! We love her like our own family. I can’t recommend her enough. She makes no judgement, which was so important to me as a first time mama. She’s very thorough and each visit with her she answered every question I had. She is such an asset to the Tri-cities and Southwest Virginia area.

When I was pregnant with our first child, we decided home birth was the best choice for our family. We met Wendy during her midwife training and were blessed enough for her to deliver our daughter during that time. When we found out we were expecting again it just seemed the logical choice to seek Wendy out now that she was practicing on her own. I have been so pleased with my experience with Wendy. I loved the one on one care. I was never rushed during my appointments, I felt like she would spend as much time with me as I needed. If I had a question that she was unsure of, she never hesitated to research and come back to me to discuss it even after appointments. I was also free to bring my 3 year old with me and she fell absolutely in love with Wendy and still asks to see her frequently. I still had access to all the standard testing (if I decided to have them) and early gender testing, which we took advantage of. We never felt pressured either way, just well informed to make our own decisions. Wendy spent a lot of time helping my husband with different pain relief techniques that helped tremendously with our birth. I also wanted a water birth which she was happy to accommodate and guide us in preparation for. We had some hiccups during the birth but Wendy was able to handle everything flawlessly and we avoided hospital intervention because of her expertise. I trust her and Angie completely and highly recommend her to any momma interested in home birth. She is knowledgeable, compassionate, composed and a brilliant woman. I’m lucky to have had her at my side during pregnancy and birth. I felt safe, well cared for, and validated in my birth experience. It brings me a lot of joy and hope for our community that we have such compassionate women practicing the art of midwifery and providing care for women to have gentle births in their own home.

Wendy was a joy to work with! When we moved to Tennessee, she accepted me as a patient late in pregnancy. She was welcoming and incredibly thorough during my prenatal care. When potential complications arose at the end of my pregnancy, she made thoughtful and helpful suggestions. She also prayed for us! My home birth was a wonderful experience. Wendy gave me the right amount of space to labor privately with my husband but offered helpful position changes to move labor along. She was very patient throughout labor. As a physician and a mother of 5, I highly recommend Wendy to any woman considering a home birth. Wendy is truly a blessing to our family and our community.

Wendy is an amazing midwife. I had 5 babies in a hospital, with the two last ones in a hospital with a midwife. Wendy delivered my 6th baby which was my first home birth. My husband and I are more natural than most people so we opted out on a lot of things that other wouldn't. Wendy never judged us or criticized us for it. She did explain the risks but supported our decision. She made the whole experience from start to finish pleasant and enjoyable. The birth of the baby went great but then after I started hemorrhaging. Wendy and her assistant Donna were amazing through the whole process. I lost a lot of blood and ambulance was called. Wendy and Donna never gave up and Wendy was able to get the bleeding to stop prior to ambulance arrival. Wendy and Donna both took very good care of me after even though I woke them up about 1:30 am, they both stayed with me for hours after the bleeding stopped to make sure me and the baby were okay. I am so glad God blessed our family and put Wendy in our life. I don't plan on having more but if we do, we will always use Wendy and her team.
