Alyssa was such a blessing! After going into labor, my husband and I were unsure about when to go to the hospital and what to do to help labor progress. Alyssa helped us labor at home for six hours before my water broke and we headed to the hospital. While we were at home she was such a great support. She helped me move around and change positions a lot more than I would have on my own. We walked up and down the stairs, knelt on all fours, and moved into different positions with the yoga ball. When I was moving around, Alyssa did counter pressure on my lower back which made a big difference as well. It was a relief to have her advice on when to call the midwife and in timing contractions. She stayed with me when I was admitted to the hospital and continued to help me move around into different positions in the hospital room and took turns with my husband and a friend doing counter pressure on my back. My labor was longer than expected which was scary at times, but Alyssa continued to be a big support as we made decisions. She helped remind me of what I had requested in my birth plan, and made sure I was aware and able to make an informed decision when the providers suggested deviations from the plan. Eventually my beautiful, healthy baby boy was born. Alyssa stayed with us for several hours after his birth to make sure we were doing well and getting a great start with nursing. A week after the birth she came back to our house and helped with our baby overnight so my husband and I could get some much needed sleep. It was a big help to have support postpartum, especially since we don’t have family nearby to help. Even if I was not planning to have an unmedicated birth, I would hire Alyssa again because it is such a comfort to have someone knowledgeable with you to assist during labor and with decision making.

Hi friends! My name is Lindsay and I am a trained birth doula with a passion for helping people. I have held onto my certification for several years while working as a CNA, too afraid to be a part of something as monumental as childbirth. This all changed when I had my son in June of 2023 - I knew that I had more to offer than just an extra hand. I believe in the power of choice, the intuitive process of birth, and that we all need a little extra support in such vulnerable and transformative times in our lives.

SummerNickol was the best doula and supporter I could have ever asked for during my pregnancy. As a first-time mom, I had so much to learn, and she guided me through everything I needed to know about becoming a mother. She encouraged me to take classes, helped me create a birth plan, and made sure the nurses and doctors knew my preferences. During delivery, she was a calming presence, teaching me breathing techniques and supporting me through every step. She truly takes her job seriously and goes above and beyond to ensure you’re comfortable, informed, and at ease. I was heartbroken when she moved because she was such an incredible part of my journey. SummerNickol was born to do this—she’s a natural nurturer and caregiver. If you’re looking for a doula who genuinely cares, she’s the one!

I took on the role of nurturer fairly early in life. As the oldest of 8 I lovingly stepped into the big sister role to help guide my siblings by displaying great leadership. In 2014 I became a mother and it was during this experience that I discovered my calling for birth work. Since, for the last 11 years, I have devoted time to being a student in midwifery, becoming trauma informed, and expanding my inclusive services, to widen my scope of support and care. " I will continue to help recreate the way we interact and think about birth, more importantly, physiological birth, as it pertains to people that look like me. We deserve to experience birth void of trauma." - Yeyo
