I am planning to have an unmedicated water birth at the Fort Worth Birthing Center. My budget for a doula is around $1,000 I’m currently creating my birth plan, and since this is my first pregnancy, I would really appreciate a doula who can help guide and educate me throughout the preparation process. I want to feel physically, mentally, and emotionally prepared for birth. I plan to breastfeed, but I’m not interested in direct latching. I would prefer to exclusively pump and would love support and guidance with establishing a successful pumping routine after birth. I’m 24 years old, engaged, and blessed to have a great support system around me. What I’m looking for most in a doula is someone who can help prepare me for the physical aspects of an unmedicated birth, provide encouragement and reassurance throughout labor, and help me feel confident in my body and my ability to give birth. My faith is also very important to me. I am a firm believer in Jesus Christ, and I would love to have a doula who is comfortable incorporating prayer, scripture, and faith-based encouragement into my birth experience. I want the atmosphere surrounding my labor and birth to feel peaceful, supportive, and centered around God. Ultimately, I’m looking for someone who will support me, encourage me, help me advocate for myself, and make me feel safe and confident throughout this experience

We're expecting our first child, a daughter, on November 6th, and we're currently at 25 weeks. We'll be delivering at Texas Health Harris Methodist Southwest in Fort Worth with Dr. Stacy Butler, so experience at that specific hospital is a plus. The main reason we want a doula is that I will be my wife's only support person in the room. We don't have family nearby and aren't planning to have anyone else at the birth, so we're looking for someone who can provide continuous support through a long labor and give me a chance to eat and rest without leaving my wife alone. Reliable backup coverage matters to us for the same reason. A few things that are important to us: My wife wants to keep her options open on pain management, including an epidural. We're looking for someone who will support whatever she decides in the moment rather than steering her toward or away from any particular kind of birth. We are formula feeding exclusively and have already made that decision, so we'd like a doula who is comfortable with that and won't push breastfeeding. We are not religious. We don't mind if a doula is personally religious, but we would prefer that faith, prayer, or scripture not be part of our birth experience. We're also interested in hands-on preparation. Childbirth education as part of a package is something we'd consider. Having birth doula, postpartum doula, as well as night services available from the same provider is a plus. We'd like to book within the next few weeks and are flexible on scheduling consultations, including evenings and weekends.

I will give birth at Texas Health Harris Downtown Fort Worth. I will need help with breastfeeding afterwards too. If they specialize in VBACs, that would be great!
