About Xochitl
Hello! My name is Xochitl (pronounced Sochi), and I am the owner and founder of Blooming Bellies Doula Services LLC. I am a DONA International Certified Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist proudly serving families throughout the Phoenix Valley and surrounding areas of Arizona. As a bilingual birth and postpartum professional (English & Spanish), I provide compassionate, evidence-based, and personalized support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. My approach combines modern education and newborn care with the traditional Mexican practices of La Cuarentena, offering families the opportunity to experience postpartum care that is both culturally rooted and deeply nurturing. My mission is to help families feel informed, confident, cared for, and supported during one of the most transformative seasons of their lives. I believe every birth deserves to be honored and every mother deserves individualized care that supports not only her baby, but her own recovery and transition into postpartum. Vientre Sagrado (Birth Support)
2 Prenatal visits (approximately 2 hours each) in your home. Assistance with creating your birth preferences or birth plan. Working with you and your partner (if applicable) to learn comfort measures and ways to maintain a peaceful environment during labor and birth. Printable affirmations. Commonly used comfort measure tools ( ie. Tens Unit, Birth Sling, Rebozo, essential oils, music, candles, etc). In person emotional support and physical comfort measures throughout active labor (or as early as you prefer) until baby is born. Unlimited text/call/email support throughout pregnancy and up to 4 weeks postpartum. On call 24/7 beginning at 37 weeks. Immediate postpartum support for 2 hours after birth to assist with initial breastfeeding if desired. Birth photography available, please inquire about it. 1-2 postpartum in-home visits usually within 2 weeks postpartum to assist with lactation and processing your birth. Referrals to resources as needed.

Placenta Encapsulation and Tincture
What is placenta encapsulation? We use the Traditional Chinese Method Medicine practice to prepare placentas for human consumption, a practice believed to support postpartum recovery. Your placenta is steamed, dehydrated, ground into a powder, and placed into vegan capsules. The pills are taken by the mother to aid with recovery from pregnancy and birth. Following strict OSHA and Bloodborne Pathogen safety standards, we ensure a clean, sterile, and professional process. What is a placenta tincture? A placenta tinture is an herbal preparation made by steeping small amounts of the placenta in high proof alcohol, usually for 6 - 8 weeks to extract its bioactive compounds. The benefits are similar to that of the capsules. Potential Benefits: Helps prevent Baby Blues and Postpartum Depression. Speeds up postpartum healing and recovery. Increases milk supply. Replenishes iron levels. Increases energy and reduces stress How it works: When you go into labor, simply notify us so we can be on standby. After birth, inform your nurse that you're keeping your placenta, and we'll handle the pickup, preparation, and delivery- returning your capsules to you quickly so you can begin your postpartum healing journey.

Ceremonia del Cierre (Closing of the Bones Ceremony)
The Ceremonia del Cierre is a deeply intentional experience that begins by creating a warm, sacred space for you to rest and be cared for. You are gently guided through grounding practices, often including warm herbal tea, light bodywork or sobada, and quiet reflection to honor your birth journey. Rebozos are then carefully wrapped around key points of the body—traditionally the head, shoulders, ribs, hips, and feet—and gently tightened and released in rhythm, symbolically closing the physical and energetic space opened during birth. The ceremony concludes with integration, warmth, and a moment of sealing, allowing you to feel gathered, supported, and restored. This service is performed once mother is 6 weeks postpartum in the comfort of your own home or my home office.

Receive newborn care designed to support your family around the clock. This package includes attentive daytime guidance and restful overnight care, ensuring your baby’s needs are met while you recover, restore, and build confidence in your new rhythm. Support may include feeding assistance (breast or bottle), soothing techniques, sleep shaping, diapering, tracking feeds and sleep, age-appropriate engagement, and light baby-related tidying. With a calm, experienced presence both day and night, your family is nurtured through the early postpartum weeks with consistency and care.

She was there every step of the way and was so organized, paying attention to the details. She captured some incredible photos of my son’s birth, did the placenta encapsulation pills for me, and taught me about belly binding after birth. I had a difficult time navigating motherhood during my pregnancy as a first time mom. When I met Xochitl, she was very attentive to my feelings and birthing plan.
