About me

Hello, my name is Jane Boyakjon, and I am a birth doula based in Highland, Michigan. I’ve been interested in birth and working with mothers since my internship with a local pregnancy center in high school. I considered being a doula for several years during college before getting my training in September of 2024. I am passionate about helping pregnant women release fear associated with birth, and help them prepare for it as much as possible. I believe the moment of birth can and should be one of connection, empowerment, and joy rather than chaos and stress. With the right tools and support, that vision can become a reality. I work to create an atmosphere of confidence, love, and advocacy for my clients during their journey to motherhood. In my free time, I enjoy sewing my own clothes, making ceramics in my home studio, and spending time outside in nature. Hope to connect with you soon! Service introduction

As a doula, my aim is to create an atmosphere of confidence, love, and advocacy for laboring mothers. This begins long before the water breaks, in helping the soon-to-be mother prepare her birth plan, and ends with a couple check-ups after delivery. My real purpose, however, is supporting you in the delivery room. Doulas have a different bag of tools than the hospital staff, including different laboring and birth positions, massage, music and aromatherapy, affirmations and guided breathing, and more. I do everything in my power to get you the birth experience you desire. Whether it includes medication or not, homebirth, planned cesarean, or normal vaginal delivery, I talk you through the steps you can take and what you can ask for from your provider to make it happen, as well as advocating for you in the delivery room.
