Hello, I am a healthy, 41yo single woman Veteran in my 12th week of pregnancy with no known genetic markers. This will be my first live birth, although I have had multiple pregnancies (2 medically terminated at 16yo, 35yo & 2 early miscarriages—just didn’t stick!). I have 3 (potential) sperm donors who are military friends, & who each have a few living children & healthy medical histories. My primary insurance is TriCare Select, with secondary VA + Community Care. My prenatal care is being overseen/conducted by Dr. Sarah Groover, MD, Family Medicine & colleagues at a UNM Community Clinic in ABQ, NM. I had been accepted, an excited pregnant patient at Dar A Luz Birth and Health Center, but funding was cut short by the current Fed Administration and the clinic had to halt their birthing services, sadly. I will still have access to their multitude of training/support classes for all-things a new mother should know (ie breastfeeding, car seat education, etc), but they are out-of-pocket expenses. My recent check-up with transvaginal ultrasound was completed at 5 weeks post insemination where fetus was located & checked for correct position/strong heartbeat. During this visit, Dr. Groover ordered a complete blood panel, which I conducted before leaving the office. My next appointment is scheduled 26AUG2025 with a CNP to review the results. I would like to have a home birth at my residence in Old Town, Albuquerque. Dr. Groover supports my decision, & requires me to have a Certified Nurse Midwife present for delivery. My support system of many women is complete with my Mother, an ABQ resident at the helm. She will be present at my birth, unquestionably. My best friend, Carly who has a 8yo boy is guiding me with emotional support & advice. Next, I am cherished & respected by quite a few male friends, many of whom are from my recent Army days, & all are fathers. Although I have been researching and inquiring about CNMs that serve ABQ Metro, I have yet to locate a practitioner who offers home birth support and/or will accept my insurance coverage, sadly. My estimated out-of-pocket budget is minimal seeing as I am currently on a fixed income (VA disability). My home has adequate space for multiple people to be present for my birth. I plan to install a sling for a standing birth, if possible. I also have a 6-ft clawfoot tub available to help in delivery, if needed (after all, not many plans end up going the ways we predict!). I hope to find a CNM who can offer me care for my specific situation. UNM, Presbyterian, Dar A Luz, Lovelace, and Women’s Specialists of NM do not offer home birth midwifery support at this time. I plan too have a home birth or at birthing center. I would like less intervention possible but someone to help with pain management. I would love for my doula to be spiritual/religious (Christian).

I’m looking for CNP midwife that takes Medicaid in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am wanting to either to hopefully a home birth or a birth center birth is possible. I really don’t like going to the hospital unless I have to.. I need some medication during the school process because this will be my first child. I am 43 years old that I am very healthy and I have no pre-existing conditions.

I would like to have a safe natural birth. As a black woman I am aware of the black women are much more likely to die due to maternal related complications. I want someone who will help and believe me when I advocate for myself.

I live in Farmington and am looking for a midwife! I used a practice in Durango with my first baby and while they were great, I am looking for someone more local and closer. All the obgyns here are full and I would like a more natural, holistic approach than most places offer. I plan on giving birth at the San Juan regional hospital down the road but am open to a home birth. My budget is kind of open right now. I'm not sure what the right budget for this would be. For birth plan, it will be very similar to my first baby. No drugs, delayed cord clamping, golden hour, etc.
