About me

​Metropolitan Doulas are a group of trained and experienced postpartum doulas, serving Washington D.C, Northern Virginia, and parts of Maryland. Perhaps you are expecting a baby, or maybe you recently had a baby and are looking for some help. Hiring a postpartum doula can ease you into your role as a parent, and provide you the care, support, and education that will help you feel relaxed and ready to take on the challenge of new parenthood.

Expert Advice - Our trained doulas can advise on all aspects of care for you and your newborn baby, physically and emotionally Feeding Support - All of our doulas are trained to educate and support breastfeeding, pumping, and formula feeding, to help you get the best start. Newborn Care - We can take care of your baby, giving you time to take care of yourself as you rest, recover, and learn to take on your new role as a parent. Sleep Guidance - Learn gentle ways to encourage your little one to sleep peacefully at night. Meal Preparation - We help you plan and prepare meals for the week, saving you countless hours. Light Housekeeping - Let us take care of baby's laundry, dishes, trash, and nursery organization while you rest. Most visits will include a combination of many different elements of support. Typically, families will start with the basics of newborn care and then, as their baby grows and changes, add on as they feel more comfortable and confident. Not sure how much time you need? We recommend booking a doula for 3-4 days/nights a week for the first 8-12 weeks after your baby arrives home.
