About me

Hi! I’m Ari, and I am a Birth Doula in the process of getting my certification with Carriage House Birth. I am located in Brooklyn and am available to serve the 5 boroughs and eastern NJ. I don’t look like most other doulas, and I want to work with families who look different, too. As a male-assigned queer person, I believe that all birthing people deserve support that encourages them to have confidence in their bodies, and swim in the awe inspiring capabilities of what our bodies can do. I know I can be your fiercest advocate and cheerleader, working with both you and your partner to bring new life into this world. Because of my unique position, I know I am prepared to work with families of all kinds, with special focuses in engaging the non-gestational parent in the process, and being a voice of reason when helping queer families grow.

Service introduction

As a birth doula, we would meet 2-3 times (or more if necessary) before your due date to review your birth preferences and work together to build your confidence leading up to the big day. I will be with you throughout your birth, as long as you feel that you need me. Then, once you have settled back home, I’ll join you a few days later to check on your recovery and assist in transitioning into your post partum period.
