Piedmont hospital I am not sure my budget as of right now I want to go all natural no epidural and want to try a water birth

First-time mom seeking a hospital birth doula who can help me prepare for a low-intervention, physiologic birth while remaining flexible if medical needs arise. I would like to labor at home as long as safely possible and hope to have an unmedicated vaginal birth, though I am open to an epidural if I feel I need one. I prefer to avoid invasive interventions unless medically necessary and want support understanding my options and advocating for informed consent. I’m especially interested in an embodied or “orgasmic” birth experience—creating a calm, intimate environment where I can feel connected to my body, move freely, use comfort measures, and approach labor with trust rather than fear. I want to learn techniques involving movement, positioning, breathing, counterpressure, hip/pelvic support, water, and other forms of comfort. My husband will be my primary support person, and it is very important to me that he be educated and actively involved throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and immediate postpartum—not simply present in the room. I would love a doula who can teach both of us how he can best support me. I am open to my mother and my husband’s mother providing additional support if labor becomes especially intense emotionally or physically, with my mother being the first person I would consider bringing in if needed. My postpartum priorities include delayed cord clamping and immediate skin-to-skin whenever medically possible. I’m looking for someone patient and educational who can help a first-time mom learn the language of birth, understand her choices, prepare for different scenarios, and feel supported without making the experience fear-based or overly rigid.

We are expecting our first baby with an estimated due date of November 17, 2026. We plan to deliver at a hospital in the Atlanta area. We are looking for an experienced Mandarin-speaking birth doula who can provide labor support, hospital advocacy, emotional support, comfort measures, and breastfeeding guidance. My wife is more comfortable communicating in Mandarin Chinese, so bilingual support is very important. We are planning for a vaginal delivery with epidural pain management if needed, but we are open to medical recommendations. We would appreciate support during labor, delivery, and the first few hours postpartum. We prefer a certified doula with several years of experience supporting first-time parents. We are also interested in learning whether any services may be eligible for reimbursement through Aetna insurance.

I want to have a natural birth in the hospital. I am using medicare for a provider. I would want dim lighting and to be able to move freely if needed. IV strictly if necessary. Meditative music (possibly). Use natural techniques for pain relief. Non evasive fetal monitoring. Allow labor to progress free of time limits and strictly if necessary- last resort augmented labor. Push instinctively. Avoid Episiotomy. Lotus Birth or wait till cord is white. Partner will cut the cord. Partner or I will rub vernix into baby’s skin. Skin-to-skin with me and partner. If a boy- 3rd day circumcision. No immediate vaccines or blood drawn for baby. Combination of breast and bottle feeding.
