As a dedicated midwife assistant and student midwife, I have cultivated a rich tapestry of experience in the realm of holistic birth work over the past ten years. My journey began with a deep passion for supporting expecting families through the transformative experience of childbirth, and this passion has only grown with time. Working as a midwife assistant, I have honed my skills in providing compassionate care and support to mothers during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. I thrive on creating a nurturing environment where families feel safe and empowered to embrace the birth process. My holistic approach focuses on the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of childbirth, recognizing that each birth experience is unique and deserving of individualized care. In my role, I collaborate closely with midwives, offering hands-on assistance during labor, including comfort measures and support for the birthing person. I take pride in my ability to provide emotional reassurance and physical assistance, helping to alleviate fears and anxiety while fostering a positive birthing atmosphere. As a student midwife, I actively engage in my education, seeking out opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills in midwifery practices. I understand the importance of blending evidence-based practices with holistic care, which allows me to support families in a well-rounded manner. In addition to my work during labor and delivery, I offer postpartum support to new parents, recognizing the importance of this transition. My postpartum care includes education on breastfeeding, newborn care, and emotional support as families adjust to their new roles. I am dedicated to empowering parents with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive during this critical time. With a decade of experience in holistic birth work, I am committed to making a positive impact in the lives of families, ensuring they have the support and resources they need to navigate the beautiful journey of childbirth and parenthood.

I entered into the childbirth field for two main reasons. First, I want to empower women through the natural methods of childbirth. I remember the feelings of strength and control that I encountered when I had my three children at home in the presence of midwives. Now, I want to pass this on to other expectant mothers. With my first pregnancy, I was alone and thought about placing my baby with adoptive parents. Then one day, along comes the most incredible woman who ended up changing my life. She was a midwife who said that she would take me on as a client for the fee of $50 (for supplies). Little did I know that she had hoped that a home birth would convince me to keep my baby. Well, her plan was a success and she has given me a gift I have yet to repay. My second reason for getting into the birthing field was because I want to eradicate the general public’s misconceptions about pregnancy and the birthing process. A woman’s pregnant uterus should not be treated as a tumorous growth to be controlled by medicine, but rather a natural event that women have been participating for many years before doctors. In most cases, birth can be accomplished safely and satisfactorily without intervention, such as drugs and surgery. The need for patience must be practiced in the presence of a laboring woman. I believe that each labor and birth is a unique and miraculous experience. I also believe that there is more than one good way to have a baby and that parents should have the proper tools available for effective informed consent and informed refusal.
