About me

I'm Ava; a very passionate birth and postpartum doula devoted to supporting women who desire a calm, instinctive, and physiological birth experience. My love for birth began early in life when I witnessed my own mother bring two of my younger brothers into the world through 2 peaceful homebirths. Watching the strength, intuition, and beauty of those moments deeply shaped my belief that birth is not something to fear, but something to trust. My philosophy centers on honoring the body's natural design for birth- not the societally pushed or man-created model of birth that often leads women to doubt their own instinct. I believe that birth "works" best when it is protected, undisturbed, and guided by a mother's intuition. When women are supported with evidence-based information, true informed consent, and a peaceful environment, their bodies are capable of incredible things. my approach prioritizes physiologic birth, instinctive movement, and protecting the natural hormone flow that supports labor, bonding, and postpartum recovery. I especially love supporting families who are drawn to physiological birth, low- intervention options, and creating a birth environment that feels peaceful and intentional. Whether you're planning a homebirth or simply hoping for a more natural and supported experience, I am here to walk alongside you with steady support, evidence-based information, and wholehearted encouragement.

Ava created a comfortable and resourceful environment for me and my birth partner at my prenatal appointments in preparing us for labor both physically & mentally. She was intentional about helping me with my birth plan by making sure the important aspects I wanted were included and fully understanding my reasonings. Unfortunately, my birth took a drastic change that called for a medical emergency. Throughout this scary and life threatening experience for both me and my baby, I felt like I could rely on and trust Ava. She was reassuring me about the medical staff, comforting me, always advocating and asking me what I wanted & needed in each moment, and she was not afraid to ask questions. Which I admired most, Ava was not afraid to ask any and however many questions and advocate for me to the medical team assisting me to make sure she and I fully understood what was going on. She didn’t care what they would think or if she was asking too much, she cared about making sure I was fully knowledgeable on what was going on so I could make a fully informed decision. She was a constant support I could depend on in this constantly changing dire situation. Even after my birth by visiting me at the hospital with food I was craving and during my postpartum visit with her at my house that I enjoyed. I would love to have Ava as my Birth Doula again in the future.
