1 month old - During breastfeeding, he feeds off for sometime and then suddenly pulls off and starts crying. Sometimes he is able to latch back but most of the times it's difficult to latch him back on. I do burp him in between but that doesn't seem to help. His pediatrician said it can be the muscles in his jaws that aren't working well or a latch issue. This started happening around Sept 8.

I have been using a nipple shield since she was born since that was what the LC at the hospital suggested for flat nipples. She transfers well and is gaining weight but I still feel some pain when she latches and experience cracked nipples which is even more painful.
