Hi, my name is Shakti, I'm a certified birth & postpartum doula, and also a certified yoga teacher (prenatal, postnatal...), and an Ayurvedic practitioner, specializing in bodywork and h traditional healing & rejuvenation therapies. I love working with my hands, herbs, crystals, energies and other gifts mama nature provides. From the caring lens of Ayurveda I view pregnancy, birth and motherhood as a very sacred time of life deserving much respect, nurturing and care of the mind, body and spirit. I also believe in the profound wisdom and power of woman's body to give birth naturally and peacefully trusting her inner guidance. I'm rejoice with of the role of mama's supportive partner and their profound positive impact of her birth experience. My intent is not only co-creating a positive, memorable birth experience, but wellness, happiness and harmony within all stages of parenthood. Besides standard care I offer many sacred rituals and ceremonies to make this stage of life even more special (if desired). I love working hard to prepare you and support you so you can have the birth of your dreams! I spend a lot of time in nature, especially in water. I love to swim in the bay and dip in local streams, talk to trees, admire the beauty of flowers. I love to ride & massage horses, forage for wild herbs and make potions and medicines, dance, sing, paint, play my keyboard, and write (including children books), even have a little Blisshorseart shop on etsy, offering unique clothing. I love to spend time with my family. I'm a mama of two grown children and one new baby grandchild.

Hi everyone, I’m Brittany Maalona, owner and doula with Stork & Sprout, a team-based doula practice serving families throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. While you’ll see my name and photo here, Stork & Sprout is very much a team. Our doulas bring a range of experience, backgrounds, personalities, and specialties to our work, and we support one another so families have a broader circle of care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We provide birth and postpartum doula support, along with lactation support, bodywork, placenta encapsulation, education, TENS rentals, and other resources for growing families. Our team supports families throughout San Francisco, the Peninsula, East Bay, and North Bay. One of the things I care most about is making doula support feel accessible, dependable, and genuinely relational. We believe families deserve information without judgment, support that respects their choices, and a team they can feel comfortable reaching out to. If you’re looking for support, please feel free to reach out. I’m happy to learn more about what your family is looking for and help connect you with the doula or support option within our team that may be a good fit.

Recent review

We had such a wonderful experience with the Stork & Sprout North Bay team. From the beginning, Brittany made us feel supported and helped us understand how the team approach worked and what to expect. We also had the opportunity to connect with Juliana, Samantha, and Yohki, and each of them brought something different while still making the care feel consistent and personal. What we appreciated most was knowing we had a whole team behind us rather than feeling like everything depended on one person being available. Everyone was warm, knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely respectful of the kind of birth and postpartum experience we wanted. We never felt pressured or judged, and our questions were always taken seriously. Having local doula support here in the North Bay made such a difference for our family. We would absolutely recommend the Stork & Sprout North Bay team to anyone looking for thoughtful, dependable, and compassionate support during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum.
