This is my first baby and unplanned, we are planning to birth at Littleton Adventist hospital. I reside in Lakewood and we are hoping for someone to help guide us through the process of pregnancy and how to plan for birth and after birth and an additional support person there for birth to help execute my hopes for a birth plan even when things go a different way. I love a holistic approach but have some health complications so we chose a MD rather than a midwife so hoping the doula is able to help us find a balance between the two wishes. The care is for me and baby but also dad will be there and is eager to learn so would love him to be included. We have both united healthcare and medicaid and really just hoping to use those two insurances to cover majority of our cost.

I plan to give birth in a hospital. I'm striving for an unmediated birth. I would like the doula to have knowledge in eastern medicine or herbalism. I try to practice tradition Chinese medicine principals where I can. I would love for the prenatal doula to help with herbal, dietary needs, help with guidance on unmedicated births, and help be an advocate at the hospital. I’m super early in this search but I want time to get connected to the right doula and have time for them to get to know me and my husband as well as us to get to know them. Question: Where do you plan to give birth (home/hospital)? Answer: hospital Question: Provide your estimated budget Answer: I don’t really have a budget because I’m not sure what options are out there as I’m just beginning my searches so I don’t want to limit or exclude Question: Describe your birth plan Answer: right now this isn’t super built out, like mentioned I’m pretty early in this search but things I do know, vaginal birth unless a complication or emergency drives a c section, epidural, goal is short labor Question: Describe your requirements for the provider (certification, number of years experience, second language spoken) Answer: someone solid who knows their stuff. No preference on second languages Question: Details about care recipients (Age, special needs, feeding, etc.) Answer: supporting through birth Question: Include any additional duties (Sleep training, cleaning, cooking, laundry etc.) Answer: right now my main focus would be birthing support and all that surrounds support during birth. Second baby, first was born 6 weeks early through a c-section (breech, positive experience). Planning for a hospital birth at Intermountain Health Lutheran. Desiring an unmedicated VBAC but going in with an open mind.

I am due in September and planning to give birth in a hospital (UC Health - Anschutz). I have not decided on a birth plan yet. My insurance plan is with Aetna PPO (through my work). I would ideally like a doula that is African American (as I am) but I am open to other backgrounds as well.
