Hey there! My name is Naomi Carrington. I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum doula, Breastfeeding Counselor and Childbirth Educator in Louisburg, serving the greater Raleigh Triangle area. I'm passionate about childbirth, mamas, and babies, and I've dedicated my life to helping families experience a birth and postpartum beyond their expectations. Birth does not have to be seen as a fearful thing, but something women were designed for. Living overseas has helped to shape who I am today and the services I offer. Over the past few years I have mainly attended home births which is my 'happy place'. But no matter where you plan to deliver, I guide my clients in preparing both their minds and bodies for labor and offer full informed support of their choices. A few things that I impart to families are: education, the importance of body balancing, whole food diet and mental preparedness. Knowledge is power and a big part of what I do. Over the years, I have attended over 85 births and taught several classes. In my free time you can find me reading, working out, enjoying an iced coffee, working in the garden, with our many animals or cooking in the kitchen. The Queen City Doulas Mother-Daughter Team Kaitlyn Foster, RN, PNP, is the heart and soul behind Queen City Doulas and her mother, Suzanne Wentworth, RN, MPH, is the inspiration. Kaitlyn learned much of what she knows from her. Kaitlyn spent countless hours learning from and working with her mother caring for postpartum women. Kaitlyn developed a deep understanding of postpartum care and breastfeeding support from a young age. Having grown up in Vermont, I was always around breastfeeding mothers, clean living, and being part of a village for new parents. Upon moving to North Carolina in 2015, I realized the silver lining that was missing in childcare- a cohesive option for care for the newest of babies to any age child, while providing a balance of education, nurturing, and love to the parents. I have a wide variety of experience and certifications in pregnancy, labor, birth, and early parenting. I bring passion and expertise to each and every family she serves. My interest in postpartum work was sparked when my little sister was born; I truly believed that this sweet angel was brought into this world as my baby. From this moment on, I knew she had to work with babies and families in some fashion. Essentially, Elise did not choose the doula/nanny life, the doula/nanny life chose her. Hi there! I’m Jess, a birth and postpartum doula in Raleigh NC and the surrounding areas! I own Oak + Valley Doula Co, and I also work at Wakemed as an education and infant specialist. I’ve been a birthworker for 20 years and truly love connnecting with families and supporting them through pregnancy, birth, and in postpartum. I have two kids, and my outside of work I love travel and volunteering in a local shelter!
