We are first time parents and plan to give birth at Rose Hospital in Denver, CO. We are looking for a birth doula to help coach mom through birth and serve as an advocate for us and our birth plan. I do not have a birth plan yet and need help making one. I want a certified doula who has been practicing for at least 3 years. I’m looking specifically for support during birth. This is my second birth and the first was very traumatic specifically with the epidural. I’m now very fearful of getting another epidural and would like to try go the non-medicated route this time but I know that I will need extra support to accomplish this goal. I have Anthem bcbs through my husband’s employment with the city of Colorado Springs, if you have any experience with that it would be helpful as paying out of pocket would be hard financially for my family.
