I would like to have a home birth at my home in Columbia, near the Harbison area. This is my second pregnancy, but my first home birth. I would like to keep costs as low as possible, though I am not sure what the norm is for midwifery and home births!

I want to give birth at a birthing center, preferably doing a water birth. I am definitely going to breast-feed exclusively and if I do have to go to the hospital, I want someone there to advocate for me.
We currently have Medicaid and we’re looking do an at home birth, birthing center or water birth. We don’t have a budget since we’re not sure what the going rates are.

I plan to give birth in a hospital in Irmo,SC. I am hoping insurance will cover portion of cost. I plan on immediate skin to skin contact, no cleaning/bathing, delayed cord clamping, delayed shots and eye ointment. It is crucial that I get the first 2 hours with my baby alone unless medically necessary.
