About me

I am a solo practice Certified Nurse Midwife with over 10 years of experience attending births in various settings in the Chicago area -- half of my midwifery career in several different types of hospitals; and the other half in home birth and at a free-standing birth center. My passion is to provide individualized, holistic, trauma-informed care to individuals and families seeking personal, loving support on their pregnancy, birth, and reproductive wellness journeys. Clients in my care will note that I am very knowledgable, warm, confident, and offer my service in the spirit of partnership with my clients. Anti-oppression is very important to me, and clients will find that my practice is inclusive, aware of the impact of social issues on health outcomes, and that I embrace a Health at Every Size approach. Additionally, my co-owner is a traditional birth worker who offers all of our clients the option of hiring her for individualized Birth Mentorship, as well as provides all home birth clients a postpartum closing. Her herbal products are also included in the birth kit, for a well-supported postpartum.

Service introduction

I offer comprehensive midwifery care across the reproductive lifespan -- from adolescence, to preconception health or reproductive life planning, to well person care, to menopause; and my specialty is offering my care for clients seeking home birth midwifery. I see clients for hour-long office visits for any of my services; and provide loving, evidence-based, and holistic support during labor, birth, and the postpartum. Additionally, I offer in-home intrauterine insemination (IUI) to clients seeking to build and grow their families using donor sperm.

Packages
Home Birth Midwifery
Comprehensive midwifery care, including office visits at the standard schedule (monthly for the first 2 trimesters, then every 2 weeks from 28-36 weeks; then weekly until birth); a home visit at 36 weeks to prepare for the birth; and my team (myself and my assistant and possibly a student) attending your birth at home. We also provide 2 home visits postpartum: at 24-36 hours, and at 4-6 days, where we offer all care that is standard for newborns, as well as follow up with the birthing client. The package also includes a 6-week postpartum office visit with the midwife and a postpartum closing with the Birth Mentor. Package does not include labs, ultrasounds, or medications for the newborn. Clients may use PPO insurance to bill labs/ultrasounds. Clients may receive a Superbill to send to their insurance to utilize out-of-network benefits with PPO insurance; or they may request help applying for a PPO waiver, if they do not have a high ($4,000+) deductible, to use in-network benefits. We do accept Care Credit for deferred-interest payment plans (no interest if paid in full by 6 months); and we accept payments on a fixed schedule.
