Looking for a doula in training who would like to attend my birth as my doula. I plan to give birth at Mt. Auburn hospital. It will be my second birth (first was with a doula and unmedicated). I am hoping for someone who is looking for the experience and can provide free/reduced cost doula services.

This is my first pregnancy, and because I am naturally a very anxious person, it is especially important to me to have a trusted support person in the delivery room who can help advocate for me. I want to ensure that my wishes are clearly communicated and respected throughout labor and delivery, as I may feel overwhelmed in the moment. Having someone act as my voice will help me feel more comfortable, supported, and confident, and will also help ensure that neither I nor my family feel overlooked during this experience. I will be giving birth at UMass Memorial and am covered by Mass General Brigham insurance, and I want to take proactive steps to make sure my care team understands and honors my needs.

My first was a very long induced labor, about 56 hours and I pushed for 3 hours. Ended up having a c section and would love to try a vbac this time around.

My husband and I are delighted to be expecting our first child and are looking for doula support for a hospital or birth center birth in Boston. Our total budget is $1,000-$1,500, and we’re hoping to find support that includes: - Editing and refining my birth plan into a clear, one-page summary. - An in-person session to practice coping techniques for labor. - In-person support at home during early labor. - Ongoing support at the hospital or birth center, helping me communicate my birth plan, advocate for my preferences, ask questions, and make informed decisions. - Staying after the birth to help with initial breastfeeding and latch. My goal is a safe, unmedicated vaginal, downward labor type birth with minimal intervention when medically appropriate. My priorities include consent before examinations and procedures, freedom to move and choose birth positions, a calm and low-light environment, and immediate skin-to-skin contact and breastfeeding support. I remain open to medically necessary interventions after an informed discussion whenever circumstances allow. Please let me know whether you can offer these services within our budget.

Plan to give birth at Winchester Hospital. Having my first baby and hoping to have a low-intervention vaginal birth. I'm still considering/learning about specific plan details. I'm more nervous about feeling rushed or pressured by hospital staff than I am nervous about birth itself, and I'm looking for someone to advocate for and support the experience I want to have within a hospital setting.
