Where do you plan to give birth (home/hospital)? Hospital — Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. I am interested in using the Alternative Birthing Center (ABC) room if I remain eligible. Estimated Budget: To be determined based on the doula’s experience, services included, prenatal support, labor support, and postpartum availability. Describe your birth plan: I am planning a midwife-led hospital birth with an OB available if medically necessary. My goal is to have an unmedicated, low-intervention vaginal birth and use the Alternative Birthing Center at Rhode Island Hospital if I remain eligible. I would like freedom of movement during labor and want to use different positions, breathing techniques, massage, counter-pressure, hydrotherapy/water labor, and other non-medication comfort measures. I want a calm, supportive environment where my preferences are respected while still having immediate access to medical care if complications arise. I am looking for a doula who will provide continuous emotional and physical support throughout labor, help me advocate for my birth preferences, explain options when appropriate, and work collaboratively and respectfully with my midwife, nurses, and medical team. I also want my partner to be actively involved and would like the doula to help guide and support my partner during labor rather than replace their role. Provider Requirements: I am looking for a birth doula who: * Is professionally trained/certified through a reputable doula organization * Has significant experience supporting hospital births * Has experience supporting physiologic/unmedicated births and low-intervention birth plans * Is comfortable supporting water labor * Is familiar with Rhode Island Hospital and its policies/Alternative Birthing Center, preferably with previous experience attending births there * Is comfortable working alongside midwives and OBs * Supports evidence-based care and informed decision-making * Has experience with comfort measures, positioning, breathing techniques, massage, counter-pressure, and labor progression * Has a reliable backup doula arrangement * Is available for prenatal preparation and continuous labor support * Is supportive and nonjudgmental if my birth plan needs to change for medical or personal reasons Spanish-speaking would be a plus, but it is not required. Details About Care Recipient: This is for birth support for me during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. I am expecting one baby. I am primarily seeking prenatal and labor/birth doula support rather than newborn childcare. I would also appreciate some initial postpartum guidance related to recovery, newborn adjustment, and feeding. I plan to discuss my feeding preferences and goals with the doula during our consultation. Additional Duties: My primary need is birth support. I am not currently looking for the doula to provide regular housekeeping, cooking, laundry, or sleep-training services. I plan to have a hospital birth. Looking for someone that has at least 2+years experience. First time trying a doula.

I plan to give birth at Women and infants. I think they are planning on inducing me because I am considered higher risk. Our budget is between 800-1000, but can go up to 1200 if it's the right person. My birth plan is to not die basically. I don't know. I know I want an epidural. I don't know what my options are. My husband and I have a history of medical trauma, and so there is some anxiety on his part going in.

I plan to give birth in hospital with absolutely no interventions. I have Neighborhood Health Plan of RI. My goal is no interventions, and please I would like to work with someone that practices informed consent and will not get personally angry or treat me differently if I deny a given procedure!
