About Dana

Hi, I'm Dana Kihoi, M.Ed, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) & Postpartum Doula. My passion is helping families feel supported, informed, and confident from pregnancy through weaning. I meet you where you are, and I'm here to support your whole family before and after birth. Feeding is about more than the latch. With training in Body-Led Breastfeeding and fascia release, I look at how your baby moves, holds tension, and uses their whole body to feed. Then I give you simple tools and positioning techniques you can use at home between visits. My training in postpartum nutrition means I'm supporting your recovery too, not just your baby's feeding. I offer in-home and virtual (telehealth) lactation consultations for breastfeeding and latch support, pumping and flange fitting, low milk supply, infant feeding assessments, navigating oral ties (tongue and lip ties), prenatal breastfeeding preparation, back-to-work pumping plans, starting solids, newborn feeding routines, and postpartum nutrition. Serving Santa Cruz County and the South Bay, including Los Gatos, Campbell, Saratoga, San Jose, Santa Clara, Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, and Redwood City. FSA/HSA eligible; superbills provided. Every family's journey is unique. I'm honored to walk alongside you with care grounded in knowledge, kindness, and respect.

What to expect

My passion is helping families feel supported, informed, and confident from pregnancy through weaning. With training in both lactation and postpartum care, I meet you where you are — physically and emotionally — with practical help and compassionate guidance. I run my practice differently on purpose: every family gets a real relationship and a planned course of care, not a single visit and goodbye. Support doesn't stop after one visit — from pregnancy through those early weeks and beyond, you'll have a dedicated partner by your side, with a written care plan after every visit and direct messaging in between. I'm the one you'll see at every visit, every time — no rotating staff, ever. I'm an IBCLC, CLSP, and Postpartum Doula with 10+ years of hands-on postpartum experience, including two-plus years focused specifically on lactation care. Every family's journey is unique, and I'm honored to walk alongside you with care that's grounded in knowledge, kindness, and respect. I currently accept select insurance plans through Milkwise — not all plans are in-network, so reach out and I can check your coverage before you book.

Frequently asked questions

What services do you offer?

I offer breastfeeding and chest-feeding consultations, personalized lactation plans, postpartum support, and feeding education — from your first prenatal question through weaning. No matter where you are in your journey, I'm here to meet you there.

Who is lactation support for?

Lactation support is for anyone at any stage of their feeding journey — whether you want to be proactive and plan ahead, or you've hit a roadblock and need help working through it. Some families reach out before birth to prepare; others come with a specific concern like pain, supply issues, slow weight gain, mastitis, or a tricky latch. Both are equally valid reasons to reach out — you don't need a referral or a “big enough” problem to get started.

What does prenatal support include?

Prenatal visits are about getting you ready before your baby arrives — specific to your body and your goals, not just general theory. We'll talk through what to expect with feeding, look at any factors that could affect breastfeeding (like flat or inverted nipples, or a history of breast surgery), and build a realistic plan so the first days home feel less overwhelming. It's also your first step into continuous care — by the time your baby is here, I already know your history, and your feeding plan is ready to evolve with you.

How soon after birth can I see you?

If we've connected prenatally through a Foundations or Fourth Trimester package, priority booking means I can typically see you within 3–4 days of birth — right around when you're settling in at home, which is exactly when feeding questions tend to surface. If we haven't met yet, reach out as soon as you're ready and I'll get you scheduled as quickly as I can.
