Hi All! I am Cheryl Small, a Birth & Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator serving families in northern Colorado. Three decades ago I had my first baby via cesarean and my next three babies were born naturally at home attended by midwives, which was a decision that changed the course of my life. I am passionate about all things natural health and believe the body has the ability to perform beyond what our minds can comprehend. This includes physiological birth. The body knows what to do. Does that mean every birth goes accordingly? Not always. But I have found the biggest obstacle is not the body, but the mind, so when prepared with education, tools, support and informed decision making, the chances of obtaining your desired birth are greater. I have supported over 60 births in the last 2.5 years at home, in birthing centers and hospitals and would love to walk alongside you through pregnancy, labor, delivery and ALL things postpartum. It's vital to not forget the fourth trimester which is when baby comes home and families may need the most support. In my free time, I am often seeking out a new hiking trail in the mountains.

Hi, I’m Liz Derry Cox, CPM, LM. I’ve been a nurse since 1997 and a licensed midwife and DONA trained doula since 2010, and it has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to walk alongside women and families during pregnancy, birth, and the early postpartum period. I’m a Loveland, Colorado-based mother of two wonderful boys, ages 4 and 1. My journey into motherhood began with a medically managed hospital birth, where support during labor and postpartum was limited. Navigating postpartum anxiety, depression, and nursing challenges as a single mother was a deeply formative experience. My second birth—a natural water birth at a birth center attended by midwives and a doula—was profoundly different. It was through that empowering and supported experience that I came to understand the incredible strength of the birthing body, and the vital role that informed, compassionate care plays in a woman’s journey. As I moved through this transformative chapter, I found myself drawn to learning more about pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. I became passionate about the power of nurturing, evidence-based support during this sacred transition. That path ultimately led me to doula work, where I feel deeply called to walk alongside women as they move through one of the most powerful experiences of their lives.

NoCo Doula Collective, is a team-based doula and perinatal support practice serving Fort Collins and communities throughout Northern Colorado. Founded by Julianne Curtis and Katie Piccolo, who combined their established doula practices to launch the collective in spring 2024. The collective provides support across the reproductive and parenting journey, including labor/birth doula care, postpartum support, lactation counseling, childbirth and new-parent education, and bereavement support. I found my love and passion for supporting families and children in 2002 when I began my career as a Nanny.  I would frequently found myself supporting newborns/infants as a Nanny and chose to transition to a Newborn Care Specialist officially in 2021.  As of 2023, I have supported over 30 families with their childcare and newborn development. In order to bolster my experience and skills, I sought educational opportunities that specialized in newborn/infant care.  I have completed course offerings from Newborn Care Solutions in both Foundational and Advanced levels and am an Elite, CACHE certified NCS; along with being a trained doula and working on my certification for lactation counselor, I continue learning and growing my knowledge through safe sleep courses and many other trainings pertaining to newborns.
