Welcome to Transcend With Birth. My name is Dessirá and I am a mother, daughter and ocean lover who has always had a deep love for connection and supporting others in intimate spaces. As a certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and Intimacy Coach, I specialize in providing personalized support and guidance for mothers and families throughout the transitions of pre-conception, birth, and the first 40 days of the postpartum journey. My mission is to create a restful, nourishing space where mothers can connect back to their womb wisdom and intuition, finding confidence and empowerment through embodiment. I have more than 15 years of experience providing high-quality newborn care for families across the Sacramento area. My career began as a professional nanny and house manager, and has evolved into serving as a dedicated advocate for women through my work as a doula. Beyond direct care, I consult with families to create individualized whole care plans that support the healthy growth of the infant, the well-being of the family, and the overall harmony of the household. I have supported dozens of families through their most intimate transitions, helping them navigate everything from birth preferences to early parenthood. I hold a degree in Psychology, which deeply informs my approach to child development and family dynamics. I have a special interest in creating opportunities for children of all ages to grow, learn, and develop, and my extensive training allows me to support families in a way that truly allows them to flourish from birth onwards. My education and background in Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) have provided me with unique tools to mentor parents and facilitate therapeutic communication and conflict resolution within the home. As a specialist in overnight care, I offer a "juicy cocoon of love and compassion" for families needing rest and recovery. During overnight shifts, I feed, comfort, and nourish the baby while providing light housekeeping to prepare the home for the new day, allowing parents to achieve optimal rest. I am a compassionate communicator focused on creating a connected team with the families I work with. My goal is to grow with your family, helping you find your desired rhythm so you can thrive in your parenting journey with ease, grace, and joy. I look forward to meeting you! She repeatedly endangered our child's life. After finding a blanket in our infant's crib, a clear violation of safe sleep guidelines, we confronted her. Her response? She refused to even discuss safe sleep practices. If you hire Dessira, understand this: she will not follow safe sleep guidelines, period. Against our better judgement, we gave her another chance. We were punished for this mistake by finding her asleep with our child precariously balanced on her shoulder. Thankfully we caught her before something terrible happened. If you're going to hire Dessira, you'll need to watch her constantly - your child's safety depends on it. Dessira doesn't just endanger children—she keeps your money when she does. She requires full payment upfront, which we paid in good faith. When we terminated her services after she violated our contract, she refused to refund the unused hours. She kept our money despite breaching our agreement. She will do the same to you.

We terminated our contract with her after she was found sleeping while holding our baby in the rocking chair (she had to be woken up by me).

Dessirá's response
I want to acknowledge and take responsibility for this experience. During a night shift I fell asleep, and I fully understand how frightening and unacceptable this would feel for any parent. Infant safety is paramount, and I deeply regret that this occurred. I have reflected carefully on this incident and have taken steps to ensure it cannot happen again, including changes to my working practices and boundaries around overnight care. I was with this client too many nights a week due to last minute need to replace the old night care provider. My guidelines are after multiple nights a week another overnight doula and I will normally split care but this was not the case. It caused a burnout that has lead to a less than ideal postpartum experience. I wish this family and their baby well, and I remain committed to providing attentive, professional, and safe care.
Desira was a blessing for our family; her warmth and care for our newborn baby and the other children at home. Desira’s calm and soothing demeanor, together with her punctual and responsible nature, created a seamless and calm schedule for us all.

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for Dessira. She is an incredible doula, and her presence brings a remarkable sense of peace and calmness to everyone around her. Dessira’s gentle nature, combined with her vast knowledge, puts both moms and their babies at ease from the very start. Her attentiveness and unwavering support during postpartum care create a nurturing environment, allowing new parents to fully relax, heal, and connect with their precious newborns. Having known Dessira for several years, I can attest to her professionalism and compassionate approach. As a massage therapist with 20 years of experience specializing in pregnancy massage, I have had the privilege of sharing clients with her, and each of them has expressed nothing but positive feedback about their experiences with Dessira. Her testimonials truly speak for themselves, showcasing her dedication and the profound impact she has on families during such a transformative time. We are fortunate to have someone as talented and kind-hearted as Dessira in our community. Aimee Davis

Dessira has been incredible to work with! She has been so helpful in regards to postpartum care for myself, support for our family, and our wellbeing! She has given me such great advice with our twin boys and has taken great care of them at night while we get some sleep. I would highly recommend her!

Dessira is a wonderful human being and an amazing resource when it comes to postpartum questions and recommendations. She worked with us after the birth of my second baby in May. I felt comfortable with her from the minute she entered our home. She was so sweet with our daughter and made sure that I was taking care of myself as a new mom. We will 100% work with her again if we have another baby.
