It’s beautiful, tender, exhausting, and sometimes overwhelming. And you deserve to feel deeply supported through all of it.
At Soft Landing Postpartum, we believe the fourth trimester deserves just as much intention, preparation, and care as pregnancy and birth.
Soft Landing Postpartum is a postpartum doula agency serving Greater Sacramento and Sonoma County. Our team of experienced postpartum doulas and newborn care specialists offers thoughtful, individualized care that blends evidence-based knowledge with the wisdom of traditional postpartum practices.
How we care for you:
* Overnight newborn care: Rest easy knowing your baby is in experienced, loving hands while you get the restorative sleep you need.
* Daytime postpartum support: Nourishing meals, light household care, newborn education, emotional support, and space for you to rest and recover.

Honestly, 10/10 doesn't even cut it for Soft Landing Postpartum and our amazing doulas, Emma and Cindy. Bringing home a newborn is a lot, but they made the whole transition feel so smooth and manageable. They both have this incredible depth of knowledge and exceptional professionalism, but they deliver it with so much genuine warmth. Whether we had questions about sleep, feeding, or just general newborn stuff, they always had the best advice. Most importantly, the way they loved and cared for our little girl was just beautiful. They felt like a natural extension of our family almost instantly, and we honestly can’t picture our daughter’s life without them in it.
We were lucky enough to use them through our Carrot benefits, and the whole process was incredibly easy. If you’re a medical resident with Carrot benefits, do yourself a favor and book them right away. Surviving residency while trying to navigate life with a newborn is no joke, and having Emma and Cindy there to support us meant we actually got to sleep, recover, and feel human. It made a world of difference in helping us show up for our shifts and be present for our baby. We seriously can't recommend them enough!

I have had an absolute amazing ongoing experience with Emma. We are first time parents to twins and I had a very unexpected sudden requirement for an early cesarean. Emma was so kind and helpful when we were able to bring our first son home from the NICU by helping us at night while I was recovering. She has been so supportive, and focused not only on my son's health and wellbeing, but my own as well. I am delighted that she has been continuing daytime doula services, and it has been genuinely a huge comfort and relief having her be an integral part of our journey.

Doula Robyn provided care for our newborn twin daughters beginning at birth, and we continued to utilize her services for many months to come. In the process, it is no overstatement to say she has become a part of our extended family.
Her deep experience with newborn care allowed my husband and I to rest with such peace of mind while our babies were in her care. Both babies would light up at the sound of her voice by several months of age. She is a calm, deeply capable practitioner.
If you are considering seeking postpartum doula care, I would strongly recommend this group and Robyn in particular!

Robyn Jones was an incredible gift to our family, and we truly can’t recommend her enough.
She is thoughtful, caring, knowledgeable, flexible, and such a calming presence. From the moment she joined us, we felt supported and at ease.
She helped us establish healthy sleep habits, supporting our baby in learning to sleep more at night, and was an incredible resource in my breastfeeding journey—helping troubleshoot both during visits and on her days off.
Robyn helped keep our household running in those early postpartum days. Waking up to an organized home was such an unexpected gift.
Most importantly, Robyn gave us real peace of mind. Knowing our baby was in such capable, loving hands allowed us to get much-needed rest and function during the day. Even our 4-year-old loved her so much that he would “visit” her in the middle of the night just to see her.
Robyn truly loves babies and has a special gift for supporting families through the sleep-deprived newborn stage. As someone with a history of postpartum anxiety, her support significantly improved my mental health and overall postpartum experience. Because of her help, we were able to show up better for our older child and for each other.
We are beyond grateful for the care she provided our family.

Words cannot fully express our gratitude for the beautiful care Robyn Jones brought into our lives. During our most vulnerable moments as new parents, her patience, deep intuition, and gentle spirit were a true sanctuary. She guided us with her vast experience, always anchoring us with non-judgmental support and an approachable heart. More than anything, the genuine love and tenderness Robyn poured into our family made us feel safe and cared for. Her warmth turned those overwhelming early days into a peaceful, confident experience we will cherish forever.

We are forever grateful for the exceptional care Robyn Jones provided our family.
Her intuition, patience, and gentle nature were a perfect blend of qualities that we much needed during a vulnerable time. We also gained invaluable insights from her vast experience, and she was always approachable and willing to address our concerns. As first-time parents, we felt relieved to have a trusted professional who offered unwavering support without judgment. What struck us most about Robyn was the genuine love, care, and tenderness she showed our entire family. Her presence was a comforting reminder that we were not alone, and her warmth helped us navigate those precious early days with greater ease and confidence.

We are forever grateful for the extraordinary care Robyn Jones provided to our family, bringing a sense of serenity, warmth, and expertise that made a profound impact on our postpartum journey. From the moment she arrived, she tenderly cared for our twins, while also supporting me with compassion, guidance, and encouragement, empowering me to navigate the challenges of new motherhood. Robyn's presence became a cornerstone of our daily routine, and her unwavering dedication has left an indelible mark on our hearts. We feel truly fortunate to have had her by our side, and we have no doubt that any family she works with will be equally blessed.

Emma Rae and Cindy Doolittle provided care for my newborn baby, me, and my family for the first 10 weeks after we brought baby home from the hospital. Both Cindy and Emma provided thoughtful care that was a huge relief during a challenging period and helped us adjust as new parents. Cindy was particularly helpful with getting me started on breastfeeding and both of them went above and beyond to assist by making snacks, helping with baby laundry and kitchen cleaning, amongst the many other things they did to help. Both Emma and Cindy helped my baby become independent and he was sleeping through the night by 8.5 weeks. They were flexible and able to adapt to our needs throughout the time we worked with them. I highly recommend both of them and anyone endorsed by Emma for overnight doula care!

Honestly I don't know how we would have done this without the support we got from Emma. She has been the relief we needed right after our twins were born and has shown techniques for caring, feeding, burping and pumping along with supplement recommendations that helped dramatically with issues our premie newborns faced. She is punctual and thorough in her night time documentation so you can know exactly how things went for an overnight support visit. I cannot recommend her enough to expectant mothers especially of multiples.

We were lucky enough to have Cindy and Emma as our postpartum doulas and it was a wonderful experience with both. Emma provided daytime care while we had Cindy for nights. It was truly one of the best decisions we could have made for our family. The post partum experience with my second with this extra support was wildly different than with my first. I recommend their services to all of my pregnant friends. My recovery after birth went much more smoothly and I also had a much better breastfeeding journey due to their care and support. I can’t recommend enough!

Frequently asked questions
What is a postpartum doula, and how can they support our family?
Think of us as your built-in village. A postpartum doula provides emotional, physical, and practical support as you adjust to life with your new baby. Whether that means caring for your newborn while you sleep, preparing a nourishing meal, helping with feeding, or simply offering reassurance during an overwhelming moment, we’re here to make your transition into parenthood feel a little softer.
What does an overnight shift look like?**
Our overnight care typically runs from 10 PM to 6 AM.Your doula takes over newborn care throughout the night, including diaper changes, soothing, feeding support, and settling your baby back to sleep. If you’re breastfeeding, we’ll bring your baby to you for feeds and handle the rest so you can return to sleep as quickly as possible. Our goal is simple: more restorative rest for you and loving, attentive care for your baby.
How is Soft Landing different from a night nanny or traditional newborn care service?
We believe caring for the baby and caring for the person who gave birth are inseparable. Our team brings experience in midwifery, postpartum recovery, lactation, newborn development, and nervous system support. We look beyond the immediate needs of your baby to consider your physical recovery, emotional well-being, and the unique rhythm of your family.
When should we book postpartum support?
We recommend reaching out during your second or third trimester to ensure availability around your due date. We understand that babies arrive on their own timelines, so we plan with flexibility in mind. Already had your baby? Reach out! We’re happy to explore our current availability.
Do we need to commit to a certain number of nights or weeks?
Not every family needs the same level of support. Some families benefit from several nights a week, while others prefer a combination of overnight and daytime care. We’ll work together to create a personalized care plan that considers your goals, schedule, and budget. Overnight shifts have an eight-hour minimum, and daytime shifts have a four-hour minimum.
Can you help me with breastfeeding?
Absolutely! Supporting your feeding journey is an important part of what we do. Whether you’re exclusively breastfeeding, pumping, formula feeding, or combination feeding, we’re here to support your choices without judgment.. We also offer access to IBCLC lactation support for families needing additional guidance.
Do you provide support after a cesarean birth or NICU stay?
Yes. Families recovering from cesarean births or navigating the transition home from the NICU often benefit from additional hands-on support. We approach these experiences with sensitivity, compassion, and an understanding that every recovery and newborn journey looks different.
Do you offer daytime postpartum care?
Yes! Our daytime care is centered around nourishing the whole family, especially the recovering parent. Support may include newborn care, meal preparation, light household tidying, feeding assistance, emotional support, and education. We also offer specialized postpartum recovery services, including bodywork, belly binding, abdominal massage, herbal baths and gentle movement.
Do you accept insurance or employer benefits?
We work with select insurance and employee sponsored benefit programs, including Carrot Fertility, and can help you explore available coverage. Eligibility and reimbursement depend on your individual plan. HSA/FSA payment options may also be available.
What areas do you serve?
We proudly support families throughout Greater Sacramento, including Folsom, Roseville, Rocklin, Elk Grove, Davis, El Dorado Hills, and surrounding communities. We also serve Sonoma County, including Santa Rosa, Petaluma, and Rohnert Park.
How do we get started?
It begins with a conversation! We offer a complimentary discovery call to learn about your family, your hopes for postpartum, and the kind of support that would feel most meaningful to you. From there, we’ll help you build a care plan and introduce you to your doula team.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out. That’s what we’re here for. ♡
