About me

Hello, I´m Diamond Washington. I am a native of the Bronx, New York. Growing up in the city, the community had a major impact on my upbringing. I was always involved in my church, as well as hosting social gatherings for friends and the youth. What called me to birth work, you may ask? During my undergraduate studies, I had the pleasure of interning with a midwife and witnessing my first birth. This experience, along with the birth stories of close friends and family, compelled me to research how I can best advocate for birthing people. The mission of Haven of Jade Doula Services is to uplift birthing people of color as they enter a significant chapter in their lives. Through a holistic approach, Haven of Jade prioritizes advocacy by pursuing the best interests of clients while ensuring a safe and supported birth experience for their babies, with respect and integrity as core values.
