I am a mom to two boys, Judah & Roman, who inspired me to start on this journey of helping mothers learn to overcome breastfeeding hurdles when I hit my own very early on. I had very different issues to work through with both boys, but with the help of my "village" that included very supportive friends, family, and IBCLCs both in and out of the hospital setting, I was able to reach my own personal breastfeeding goals. I offer both in home and in an office setting along with virtual opportunities to work with me. The conversation may start around breastfeeding but it does not end there. Dynamic movement is foundational to breastfeeding. During our visit, I will be helping you learn how to help your baby to move, which can often leach into helping mom learn how to move as well. While many of my clients are concerned with how baby’s mouth is working, I see oral function as the tip of the iceberg. We need to work from the ground level up to get lasting results. We look into what kind of support mothers need to thrive during postpartum. A mother’s health and vibrancy is reflected back by her baby. So to help a newborn that is struggling, we need to support that newborn’s mother. We talk about nutrients mothers need to support themselves and a robust milk supply and how nurture the essential nutrient of rest during a physically and emotionally demanding season. Both in-person and virtual visits for pregnant and breastfeeding parents are available. The visits include a detailed health and breastfeeding history, observation of a feeing, as well as pre and post weight checks. Her philosophy is that every family should feel they are thriving, not just surviving, the adjustment to adding a new baby to the family. While a lot of her time is focused on the first three months after delivery, her support can span years as the family unit is ever evolving. Her specialties include oral function, assessment for oral restriction (aka lip/tongue ties), tension release with CFT, post NICU graduates, multiples, and medically complex infants. The most important factors that drive the care you will receive from Liz are 1) what are you goals as a family and 2) what is the root cause of any struggle you are experiencing.
