My journey started when I finished my studies in early childhood education in Brazil and worked with children of all ages including children with emotional and behavioral disorders. One day I had a opportunity to help my friend on her postpartum and I felt so helpful and happy to give her the love and support she needed. After that I immersed myself in the world of motherhood, I felt so passionate and became a postpartum doula. I also had the amazing experience when I had my own sunshine boy, and being a mother is so unique and wonderful but also very challenging. Today I am so accomplished to do my job as a postpartum doula! I know the importance of having a Doula to help, and support a mother and family in their pre-birth, delivery and also in the difficulties encountered in the postpartum journey.

With over seven years of experience caring for babies and children as a caregiver, I have always felt called to nurture, support, and uplift families during life's most tender moments. Ever since stepping foot in the postpartum care world, I found my passion and truly fell in love. As a doula, I offer gentle, hands-on support to new mothers and their families during the sacred postpartum period. My care is rooted not only in deep compassion and intuition, but also in the latest evidence-based practices and research in postpartum care, infant development, and maternal health. My philosophy is that when science and heart come together, families feel more confident, supported, and empowered. I show up with a calm presence, knowledge, and unconditional care.

I am a certified birth and postpartum doula, childhood education student, a mama of two daughters, and a wife. Drawing on both my personal journey and professional experiences, I bring a deep understanding of parenthood and a heartfelt passion for supporting families through every stage. I am conversational in Spanish and adaptable to all cultures and traditions. I offer care that is inclusive, respectful, and compassionate. I believe birth is sacred and that the birthing person deserves just as much care and celebration as the baby. I take a holistic approach that nurtures the whole family- providing breastfeeding support, newborn care education, and gentle massage for both baby and birthing person. Families describe me as warm, attentive, and empowering, someone who ensures that feel truly seen, celebrated, and supported during one of life's most transformative moments.

As a night postpartum doula, my approach centers on responsive care and fostering secure attachments. With over 8 years of professional childcare experience, I bring a unique blend of warmth, expertise, and a deep understanding of family dynamics to every home I support. My journey began in a bustling diverse household (Filipina immigrant mama & American dad with Chinese, European, and Spanish roots) as the third eldest of eight, where I naturally became my mother’s helper. This early immersion in childcare instilled in me a profound comfort around infants and children. Today, I draw on this foundation to provide families with compassionate, responsive care that prioritizes the emotional and physical well-being of both parents and babies. I believe that by responding promptly and sensitively to a baby's needs, we lay the groundwork for secure attachments, fostering a nurturing environment where both babies and parents can thrive.

You need her! We couldn’t have made it without Briana. Her level of broad expertise is unmatched. Any parents fortunate enough to access her knowledge and care are truly lucky. Parents book her months in advance because she’s so in demand, and we were honored to see her practice her craft. Briana was everything we needed as we stepped into parenthood. She has a wonderful and calming presence that fills the room. Our baby adored her and always felt warm and safe in her arms. She assisted my wife with bottle feeding, sleep habits, positive attachments, laundry, cleaning bottles and pumps, breastfeeding, and provided excellent lactation resources. She was there for both the rough and good nights, always maintaining a positive attitude and a “let’s do it” mindset, without a hint of judgment. As a dad, whenever I had questions on how to support my wife, Briana always answered and reassured me that I was doing everything right and more as a father. Parenthood is not easy, and Briana was our village to get through it. So no, I am not going to justify her rate. She is a Rolls Royce, and a Rolls Royce don’t explain themselves.

I used to be a nurse in Brazil for 16 years. I would like to proceed in this area because I have always enjoyed working with prenatal and natal stages, including babies aged 0-6 months in the hospital. I decided to concentrate more on being a doula since it encompasses more of what I love to do. I have worked as a combination of an at-home nurse and post-birth baby care for mothers fresh out of the hospital. But since moving here instead of being a nurse again, I have decided to be a certified doula.

Having Katherine’s support during the first six weeks with my premature baby was truly invaluable. My little one struggled with reflux, and Katherine’s patience and expertise made a huge difference. She took great care in holding my baby upright for 30 minutes after each feeding, which helped tremendously. Her knowledge, gentle approach, and reliability provided a great sense of reassurance. I’m incredibly grateful for her help and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to any family in need of newborn care.

✨ Hi friends! I’m Jess (she/her) — a queer birth & postpartum doula based in the Bay Area. I grew up around birth and babies (shoutout to my nurse mom!) and fell in love with supporting new parents early on. After seeing so many of my friends navigate birth and postpartum without the support they deserved and needed, I knew this was the work I was meant to do. I offer care that’s supportive, inclusive, and centered on you—your values, your vision, and your unique journey into parenthood. If you’re pregnant, postpartum, or just dreaming about building your family someday, I’d love to support you. 💛
